Creep Posted February 21, 2014 Author Report Posted February 21, 2014 Just snagged a Friday and Saturday night stay at the Trump via PRICELINE's Name Your Own Price for $130/night. Started off at $80 and inched my way up for the last day or so until I got to $130. Total with taxes came out to $303 -- about $15 less than if I went with Hot.wire or Priceline.express. All-in-all, best deal the market would produce at this point.
AaronJB Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 Congrats on your success. :) Very nice win for this property and hope you are looking forward to your stay. Creep Posted February 21, 2014 Author Report Posted February 21, 2014 Hey all - I grabbed two nights at the Trump for Friday & Saturday nights on 5/2 and 5/3 with Priceline's Name Your Own Price engine for $130/night. After talking to customer service there, it sounds like all standard rooms include 1 king and 1 queen sofa bed. I'm familiar with the $20 front desk tipping trick to get a room upgraded. With this being a weekend stay, the fact I already got a killer nightly deal on the room, and my ETA that first day of about 7 pm -- should I even attempt the $20 tip for an upgrade? Any thoughts or experiences? Thanks in advance. - Sam
thereuare Posted February 21, 2014 Report Posted February 21, 2014 You can try for the upgrade, but i would first determine exactly what type of other rooms are offered at this property, then weigh them vs. what you currently have booked and if the upgrade is worth $20. Too often everybody wants an 'upgrade' but never really looks into what is offered at the next level of room and if it's worth the tip or not. Also, if you're a coffee drinker, note that the Starbucks inside the Fashion Show Mall (across the street from this hotel) has 'regular' Starbuck prices, unlike the locations inside the casino hotels on the strip which have airport-like prices, so you can save some money by using one of the two locations inside the mall for your daily habit. There is also an ABC store inside the mall if you want to pick up lower priced snacks, soda, beer, wine, etc. for the room which will certainly be cheaper then elsewhere on the strip and also much cheaper than the hotel mini-bar. Good luck and ave a great time in Vegas! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
