No need to start there. :) We are going to NYC for pleasure in a couple of weeks. Will be checking in 3/8 and checking out 3/12. Looking to stay near Greenwich Village, east or west. Looks like Chelsea is a good zone for getting close. Any other recommended zones for either Priceline or Hotwire? For my Chelsea search, here are the amenities I see. Anyone have any ideas which hotel it may be? Is it likely the Doubletree? I am searching for 4* in the Chelsea area. The result I get is 80% recommended at $165/nt. Amenities Free Internet Pet friendly Fitness Center Restaurant(s) Business Center Accessibility Accessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel Any feedback on best hotels in this area? For reference, our budget is $200/nt (preferably less of course) and I'd like to do 3.5* or higher. Thanks a lot!

If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? This is what i'm seeing for the 4* hotel in this zone when searching for your dates: Free Internet Pet Friendly Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower If this is what you're seeing my best guess for this one would be the Doubletree Chelsea. Most of the Village has excellent subway access, so depending upon exactly where in the village it is that you want to go, you should find it fairly easy to get there from most locations throughout the city. Here is the Full Amenities list I'm seeing for the 4* Chelsea, using the Bidding.Helper button. FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, Internet access If I am going to pay $160 per night for the Chelsea Doubletree, is there a comparable price for a more upscale hotel in another zone you think I could shoot for? Any idea what the ESB 4.5* would be with these amenities (from Bidding.Helper) FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness Center, Business Center, Self service laundry, Internet access Thank you again!
thereuare Posted February 20, 2014 Report Posted February 20, 2014 I'm not sure of the 4* Chelsea property in your last post, as the amenities have changed (vs. your first post) and i do believe this is likely a different propety. My guess for the 4.5* ESB property would be the St. Giles The Tuscany. Another option at this price point to consdier would be the 4* Times Square property (with a 4.5/5.0 TA rating) priced at $172/nite with: Pet Friendly Suite Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet ... best guess for this one would be the Doubletree Guest Suites Times Square NYC. There are 'lesser' 4* hotels than these avaiable for less... the New Yorker and the Roosevelt both seem to be availabe around the $120/nite area. The two above are nicer hotels, but just mentioning these incase you'd prefer to go a less expensive route. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. vanclaw Posted February 20, 2014 Author Report Posted February 20, 2014 Ended up using PL instead of HW and booked Hotel Indigo in Chelsea for $160/nt.Here was my bidding process.Chelsea + Soho/Tribeca 4.5* 160 - noChelsea + Soho/Tribeca 4* 149 - noChelsea + Soho/Tribeca 4* (again--just closed tab and reopened from the PL quickquote box here on betterbidding) 153 - noChelsea + Soho/Tribeca + Long Island City 4* 159 - noChelsea + Soho/Tribeca + Long Island City + Harlem 4* 160 - yes @ Hotel Indigo ChelseaI used the links on this board! Please congratulate me without linking them again! :P
