TB272 Posted February 16, 2014 Report Posted February 16, 2014 I'm looking for 2 rooms (hoping for two beds per room) in NYC for about 4-5 days on either side of 9/15/2014 for a wedding in Manhattan's Chinatown. I was wondering what kind of pricing would be a good deal in this time frame in NYC? Based on the Priceline area choser, I'm looking in any of the following areas: Central Park SouthChelsea AreaDowntown - FIDIEmpire State BuildingHell's KitchenLower East SideMadison Sq. GardenMidtown EastMidtown WestSoHoTimes SqUpper East SideUpper WestsideI know it might be a bit early, so I can wait, but I just wanted to get a good idea as to what the best strategy to get any of these areas, and what kind of pricing would be considered a good deal for that time of the year. I currently see Express Deals on Priceline for $204 - Empire State Building/$238/$209 - Downtown - FIDI.In terms of rating, I'd be hoping to get something that is rated by users 7.0 and above. Star rating wise, I'm open.
thereuare Posted February 16, 2014 Report Posted February 16, 2014 Rates are date specific and can vary significantly from one day to the next... are your dates within the range above not yet firm, flexible so that any 4 nites in the range are acceptable, or do you need to confirm other things (time off from work, arrangement with others, etc) before pinning down the actual dates? Also, you mention you're open in terms of star rating, but obviously the star rating you try for will effect the price needed to win. However, with so many zones you're willing to accept, you can easily start very low and gradually increase your bids to get accepted at the hotel at your star level with the lowest available price. Are you ready to start bidding now? If so, what star rating would you like to try for first and what would be your maximum bid? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
