Priceline Hotel: Priceline Express Deals 4* and 5* Madrid

A friend referred me to this site, this is my first post! I am going to be in Madrid July 25-29. I am looking at some express deals on priceline, as I have a coupon for an additional 10% off that is good through tomorrow. Here are the details I have on the options I am looking at. Any advice or insight into possible hotel identification would be much appreciated!

5* Prado/Atocha/Retiro. $147/night. Pets allowed, Business Center, Restaurant, Fitness Center, Rated 9 or higher.

5* Castellana/Chamberi/Salamanca. $118/night. Restuarant, Business/Fitness centers, Rated 8 or higher.

4* Royal Palace/Plaza de Espana/Old Town. $64/night. Free Internet, Business center, Rated 9 or higher, options for standard, leisure($80), and superior($80).

4* East Madrid Suburbs. $46/night. Internet, Restaurant, Business/Fitness centers, Rated 9 or higher, options for standard, leisure ($58), and classic ($59).

Please keep all posts for this stay in this same thread. It will take quite a bit of time to fully research the PRICELINE EXPRESS properties above, so before doing so, and since you're also considering PRICELINE bidding and HOTWIRE, let's back track a minute... what is is exactly that you're looking for from this stay? What is more important to you... star rating, cost, location, amenities offered, user reviews, etc?

My stay in Madrid is my final blow-out weekend after a long work trip to Spain. so the general answer to you questions about my priorities is "yes." I'm not necessarily looking specifically for one criteria over another, rather than a combination the most luxury, comfort, and convenience, for the lowest amount of money.

A central location in a nice and interesting area is probably #1 on my list.

Value/bargain (not necessarily price)is probably #2. ie. I would consider a 5* $250 room for $100 a better value/bargain than a 4* $100 room for $50. Free breakfast adds significantly to overall value, imho!

As far as amenities, queen/king bed and free internet are the most important. (I see a couple of rooms that I'm about to ask about on hotwire that also advertise a pool, which I wouldn't complain about but isn't a necessity.)

As far as ratings/reviews, it's nice to know that people consistently say good things about the hotel.

4.5* $92/night Chamberi - Castellana - Theatre District area. Internet, pools, indoor pools, restaurants, smoke-free rooms, business/fitness centers, self-service laundry.

5* $138/n Salamanca - Shopping District - America area. Internet, pools, restaurants, spa services, business/fitness centers, self-service laundry.

I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links.
