Thanks for the follow-up and hear the savings weren't much for this stay.

There isn't much much margin in a $60 hotel room (they have almost the same costs as a 4* or 5* for electricity, linens, land, towels, etc) so there may not be as much of a discount as on the higher star rated hotels which are more expensive and have more room to deeply discount. As well, this is Valentine's Day which is usually a busy nite for hotels, and with higher occupancy they may not be able/willing to discount as much as during 'regular' nites when demand is more normal.

In the future use our BiddingHelper.com which will show you HOTWIRE, PRICELINE EXPRESS, and Hotels.com (in the OTHER tab) in one search so you can easily compare prices and see if you're likely getting a good deal or not (at least based upon star rating)
