BobLoblaw Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 Hi, I'd like to book a room for one in Tsim Sha Tsui from March 7 to 13. Ideally I'd like to pay less that 115 a night. What's the bidding strategy to use for this?

BobLoblaw Posted February 13, 2014 Author Report Posted February 13, 2014 I've read the message and clicked the link. Now what?
thereuare Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 I'm not sure if $115 will be enough for a 4* hotel for these dates, but to give it a try you can try as follows:When bidding 4* in this region you have ONE re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Tsim Sha Tsui...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and once again use the following link to re-access PRICELINE (and NOT the link in any emails that PRICELINE may send informing you that you're eligible to bid again)...Select 4* Tsim Sha Tsui...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. BobLoblaw Posted February 14, 2014 Author Report Posted February 14, 2014 Tried this, all the way to 115. No luck! Not sure if I should just try another area or try an apartment rental instead.
thereuare Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 At current rates I think you'll need to be closer to the $140-$160 area to be successful for a 4* hotel on PRICELINE in this zone.I don't know your needs for this trip, but you may have success for a 4* hotel in the West Honk Kong Island zone, or possible but a slightly lower chance in the East Hong Kong Island zone. You can also try searching our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com where you can see hotels near almost any location in the world and easily see how much more/less it would cost to go up/down in star rating or to stay closer/further from your ideal location. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know whatever you decide to do for this stay or how we can be of further help. BobLoblaw Posted February 16, 2014 Author Report Posted February 16, 2014 Tried East HK Island for 115, no luck. I can book directly with a 4* hotel in East HK for 138. Might try for TST for that price, then if no luck I'll probably try that hotel directly.
