For starters, note that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. Is this a risk you're willing to accept?

If not, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc) For the HOTWIRE properties above did you include 2adults/1child in your search or only 2adults?

While not common for this area, a double bed would be possible and the hotel would be within the terms of their side of the agreement.

Have you had any luck with Last Minute Travel's 'secret hotels' ??

They actually show pictures of the hotel and the TripAdvisor rating so it's rather easy to determine what hotel you are getting with minimal research.

I found GALLERYone - Double Tree Suites By Hilton for $126.00 - it's about 10 miles from the airport so I suppose taxi will be a bit high but that price is nice and would be near great reataurants/shopping at the Galleria Mall.

Make sure the hotel is listed as 'available' (rather than 'on request') as the latter means that they don't have any rooms left at that rate and need to contact the hotel to see if they can get more inventory at their contracted rate.

the room was listed as "on request" but I did request it about 36 hours ago and just got word that they accepted the $126.00 rate so with taxes included I'm paying $139.58. The best rate pn Doubetree's website is $249.00.

I appreciate your help. I was very close to going the HOTWIRE route but somehow lucked into a better deal.
