cobys Posted February 2, 2014 Author Report Posted February 2, 2014 Hi There.I clicked the links. Will appreciate your help. Thanks
thereuare Posted February 2, 2014 Report Posted February 2, 2014 I don't have a guess for the MTE property which is only showing 7 reviews by previous HOTWIRE guests, so this may be a newly added hotel to the HOTWIRE system. For the 3.5* Times Square property my guess here would be the Belvedere. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. cobys Posted February 6, 2014 Author Report Posted February 6, 2014 Hello,Need your advice on an early May NYC vacation.Dates are 05/02 to 05/07.Trying to find a 3 to 4 stars hotel, in the center, for less than 200$.The only hotels I find for less than 200$ are with poor rating / recommendations.Yesterday I tried bidding for up to 175$ for times square and MTW (4 stars), with no success and no counter bid. There is a midtown east 4 stars hotel.Priceline shows 207$ (rate of 7.0), amenities: business, internet, fitness, restaurants.Hotwire shows 205$ (100% recommendations but only 7 voters), 4.0 trip advisor, same amenities plus laundry and all possible accessibility options.I assume it is the same hotel. Can you help me identify it? if it isn't too far from 5th avenue, I'm willing to take it.Do you think that if I wait for few more weeks prices may go down - or more likely to continue to raise? Thanks a lot!
cobys Posted February 6, 2014 Author Report Posted February 6, 2014 After digging more into the lists of hotels, my best guess is that this hotel in the One UN New York. The amenities are a perfect fit, the retail listed price is 359$, which is exactly what Hotwire display as the regular price. This hotel is so far from the fifth ave. I don't want to get it.I'm back at square one :-(
thereuare Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 The amenities are a perfect fit, the retail listed price is 359$, which is exactly what Hotwire display as the regular price. It may be the hotel you guessed, but NOTE:1) those amenities are present at almost all 4* hotels in NYC2) the croosed out retail rate shown by HOTWIRE is an average price for 4* hotels in this zone for your dates, not necessarily the specific hotel that is being offered, so you can use this information to help identify the property offeredPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. cobys Posted February 10, 2014 Author Report Posted February 10, 2014 Thanks for your help.My requirements are:1) I want to stay around Times Square area2) I want a decent hotel. I assume decent is: 3 stars and above. Trip Advisor of 4.0.3) Budget was suppose to be about 150$, but I understand now I'll probably need to go about to about 200$.The best deal I've found so far is a 3.5* at times square which I assume is the Belvedere. It is priced between 205$ to 210$.I'm trying to find a better deal, with not much luck so far (either hotwire or priceline). Thanks again for your help!
