I am first timer looking for bidding help for booking 4* in Boston on priceline with the following requirements:

Location: Backbay/Copley/Theater District

Check-In Date: Fri, Sept 19, 2003

Check-Out Date: Mon, Sept 22, 2003

Number of Rooms: 2

Number of Nights: 3

Any assistance in what I should bid or any other insights would be apreciated.

Welcome to BetterBidding.

I'll assume you know about RE-BIDDING, but if not read that link and feel free to ask any question you may have. I count 4 re-bid zones for this star level in the area, so you will have a chance to place 5 bids before needing to wait 72 hours before placing another bid. (i would NOT use the Cambridge area as a re-bid zone, as it is yet undetermined if a Boutique hotel can be upgraded to a 4* or not)

This is how i would proceed....

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone and...

Bid $90

My guess is that you're most likely to have success at the $80 or $85 level, but you have the re-bids available and the lower prices are not unheard of, so might as well give them a try.

If this is more than you wanted to spend then post back and i'll adjust the strategy somewhat. If you're new to Priceline, feel free to post here to confirm your re-bid zones or ask any add'l questions you may have.
