MichaelSaves Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 I booked a 3 star in Georgetown/Foggy Bottom for $63 a night at the end of January. It was NOT located in that area. It was Savoy Suites in Glover Park, directly across from the Welcome to Glover Park sign.I realized this before I traveled because I know the area. HOTWIRE wouldn't refund because it's a hot rate. The hotel, despite its exterior, wasn't bad. Just a location issue because it's not close to Georgetown/Foggy Bottom.
thereuare Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! Thanks for your post and sharing your win with the board. If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. So that your previous purchase can best help others, can you please add the full details of your win to the board (include: star rating, city, zone, hotel name, room rate per nite (before taxes/fees), dates of your stay, and the amenities shown before your purchase)... this will help others as well as enable your purchase to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.As far as your issue goes, HOTWIRE didn't refund your purchase as this property is located in the zone as defined by the boundaries on their map. With your knowledge of the region you may have a different area in mind when you think 'Georgetown-Foggy Bottom', but if you look at HOTWIRE's map of this area the Savoy Suites is located within the zone boundaries of this zone.We have seen a few instances over the years where a hotel was located outside of the zone, or didn't have the amenities listed, and HOTWIRE has generally been very good about handling the situation (sometimes canceling the reservation, sometimes offering a credit to use for a future purchase if the user keeps the reservation, etc), but in your instance the hotel is located within the zone boundaries which is why HOTWIRE did not offer a refund or any other compensation. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Thanks. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
