dw24 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Posted February 5, 2014 HiI am a newby to this forum, although I have tried both HOTWIRE and PRICELINE in the past (usually unsuccessfully as my bids have not been accepted). Your help would be appreciated in helping me improve my strategy. I would like to go to Paris for 2 nights (Mar 14-16). My preferred areas are Princeline's 1. Opera Quarter West (my clear first choice) followed by 2. Champs Elysee - Arc de Triomphe, 3. Champs Eylsee -Etoile. My Hotwire choices would be 1. Opera Garnier - Galeries Lafayette and 2. North of Champs Elysees. I would like at least a 3 star, and my top bid would be $150 per night. Any suggestions? I am not sure if I have provided all the information required so please let me know if something is missing. Thanks

dw24 Posted February 6, 2014 Author Report Posted February 6, 2014 The high the stars the better. I would prefer a 4+ star level but will drop to a 3 star if necessary.

dw24 Posted February 6, 2014 Author Report Posted February 6, 2014 I would prefer to stay in my first choice area, and will pay more to do so.
thereuare Posted February 6, 2014 Report Posted February 6, 2014 When bidding 4* in Paris you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Opera Quarter West...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150If the above is rejected, pricelline.express currently has a 4* hotel in this zone for $166/nite (only showing Pets Allowed, Free Internet)... but if you use the link and code in my signature you get an extra 5% OFF bringing this room rate down to $158 and worth the extra $8/nite to stay at a 4* in the zone you want? The coupon expires tonite (2/6) so you'll need to try the bidding above and then make a decision if you want the PRICELINE EXPRESS offer with the extra 5% OFF.Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
