I'm booking a room for 3 adults, so the rates are higher than the 2 person rate.

I have a 3* hotel in Chelsea I can cancel up until 2 days before, at a rate of $207 a night. I'd like something a bit nicer and cheaper if possible. I'd prefer a midtown or Times Square location.

I found a 4* in the Times Square are. 90% recommended

Please follow-up your previous Hotwire Palm Desert thread with whatever you ended up doing for that trip...

I don't remember how I booked this. I don't have a purchase in my hotwire history. We didn't stay at any resorts, I don't even remember the name of where we stayed, sorry.

My best guess for the property above would be the Crowne Plaza Times Square Manhattan.

Trying to decide between booking this and booking a 4* MTE at $194 a night. I'm pretty sure that one is the Roosevelt. It has a 70% customer satisfaction rating, a 3.5 TA rating and includes the following amenities.

Fitness Center

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Internet access

Accessible for the blind

Accessible for the deaf

Accessible path of travel

In-room accessibility

Accessible bathroom

Roll-in shower

We are taking our son on a trip to NYC for his 18th birthday. We are just hoping to have 2 beds and not a cot, I think both hotels don't allow 3 person occupancy in the standard queen/double rooms. I am going to call tomorrow and ask if they allow it. We also would like a nice place, convenient to site seeing. We will definitely be seeing a show or two while there too. I'm leaning towards the Times Square hotel, but it's a tad over our $200 a night budget we are trying to stay under. Any advice? Is it worth the extra cost?

I'd agree that the Roosevelt would be a good guess for the 4* MTE property, and i would sooner go with the Times Square property. I'm not such a fan of the Roosevelt and the TS property would be worth more than $20/nite more, imo. If your son is not yet 18 he is defined a 'child' as per HOTWIRE's search parameters, so you could also search for 2adults/1child which appears to offer the same hotel for a few dollars less and probably more inline with your budget.

Thanks for the advice. He turns 18 during our trip, so I put him in as a child and it lowered the price to $184. I used the HOTWIRE link, and got the Crowne Plaza Times Square.
