GreatWhite
Hey guys,Im planning to go to NYC in two weeks and would like your suggestions on bidding for a hotel during that time. I plan to walk around (I know it will be cold) during teh day and hit bars at night, so I guess CPS, Midtown East and West and Time Square areas would e best, but I'm open for suggestions.I'm looking for something with a decent bed and clean, no need for luxury, wi-fi would be nice but no big deal if not, so my guess that would be a 3 or 3+ hotel.Would it be realistic to stay under 100 bucks a night total?I'd appreciate your help. Thanks in Advance. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are low for these dates and you could possibly get a 4* hotel in one of these zones for $100 or less... would you prefer a 4* hotel if within your budget OR do you prefer to pay less for a lower rated hotel? Also, in the CPS zone note that the Hudson Hotel is now 4* rated. This property is centrally located but has notoriously small rooms... would this be acceptable for this trip?Lastly, there are bars all over NYC, but the 'meat packing district' (PRICELINE's Chelsea zone) and Soho are current 'hot spots' for some of the most popular club venues, but these are usually further away from where the typical visitor 'explores the city', so not sure which location would be better for your needs. Please confirm the zones you're willing to accept (if sticking with those above please confirm if you we should include CPS or not) as well as what star rating you'd like to try for and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. GreatWhite
Thanks for the quick reply.I'd say I rather spend my $ on beer :) So a cheaper decent hotel would be preferable. I've been to NYC multiple times, I'll probably pick a museum or two to visit, but mostly I like to walk around and find interesting people and things to photograph.I'm not against clubs, I'm a single guy, but I prefer go to bars with a good beer selection or alternative kind of clubs with a more laid back crowd, but I'll take your suggestion and remove CPS from the list. Thanks again. thereuare
The reason to remove CPS would more likely be to the small rooms at the Hudson, and if you're traveling solo, that room may work for your needs (but it is small even for one). Also, if looking for the least expensive 3* or better you might also want to consider (in addition to MTE, MTW, and TS):MSG, HK, Chelsea, and/or ESBPlease confirm the zone(s) you'd like to include in your bidding and we will suggest a strategy for the least expensive 3* or better with a $100 maximum bid. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. GreatWhite
Makes sense. Let's keep CPS out and add MSG, HK, Chelsea, and ESB, just want to make sure I'm somewhere safe to walk around at night :) Link to comment
