Hotwire Hotel: Hotel in February

Hi All,

I'm new here. I'm looking to book a hotel in NYC (my first time there) in the end of February - 19-26 or 20-27.

Budget for hotel is up to a 1,200$ but hoping to spend less.

The purpose of the trip is 1 or 2 days of business and 5-6 days of shopping, sight-seeing etc..

Any tips or recommendations regarding hotels or anything else will be very helpful.

I haven't booked the flights yet but I have to be in NYC for business on the 20th. Most probable scenario is 19th-26th, but depending on work schedule issues to be resolved in the next few days might be 20th-27th. Regarding star rating I don't really mind. Forgot to mention on my last post, I'm traveling with my wife so it needs to be a room for 2 adults.

Rates are somewhat low (by NYC standards) for these dates so i don't expect your budget to be too much of an issue, but what type of star rating are you seeking for this stay?

Are you looking for the highest star rated hotel within your budget OR do you prefer something at a lower star rating in hopes of a cheaper price? You mention never having been to NYC before, but do you have any sense of which zone(s) you are interested in?

I don't really care about star rating that much.

Regarding zone, I prefer midtown as there is where my business meetings will be held.

Regarding budget up to 1,200$ for 7 nights including taxes should be fine.
