shizniltee Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Hi, going to LV again and looking to book through hotwire via you as usual!two options, for North Strip 5-stars. I can't define either basis the ammenities:23-26 March$132 (total $470)seems like the Wynn or Encore, any idea how to tell them apart? :90% recommendation4.5/5.0 tripadvisor, overall and for each single categoryFree ParkingCasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterInternet accessGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in shower26-29 March$143 (total $509)looks like Palazzo or Venetian, can you tell the difference?? :90% recommendation4.5/5.0 tripadvisor, overall and for each single categoryFree ParkingFree InternetResortSuiteCasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterSelf service laundryInternet accessGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesAccessible for the blindAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in showerHotwire charges an additional 7% of fees?If the first (23-26 march) is the Wynn it's actually almost the same price as through booking.com. Booking.com is about $500 for 3 nights incl the tax, vs the $470 on hotwire. And then you know for sure plus you have free cancellation. Guess it means the deal for the Wynn isn't that attractive yet!thanks for the help.
thereuare Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Best guess for the first 5* hotel would be the Wynn... for the second property would be the Palazzo or the Venetian. If you're willing to pay the $500 all-in rate i'd book that as a back-up and continue to try PRICELINE / HOTWIRE for a better deal in the days/weeks ahead. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. shizniltee Posted January 22, 2014 Author Report Posted January 22, 2014 Cheers, that's prob what I'll do. I like the Palazzo, but prefer not to stay at the Venetian: no way of telling them apart? Is one offered more on hotwire than the other?I'd happily pay a couple bucks extra for the Encore or Palazzo. Would consider bidding on Priceline, but basis 5 stars on North Strip, you can end up with any of these four or the Trump. Can't narrow that down either I guess?
AaronJB Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 Both services are really more about a hotel rather than a specific hotel. Unfortunately, Palazzo and Venetian show with the same amenities and they appear fairly equally. In terms of bidding, the Trump is in the Strip North Vicinity zone. You MAY be able to narrow down on the PRICELINE Express side - are you seeing a listing of interest in 5* North on the Express side of the service?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
shizniltee Posted January 27, 2014 Author Report Posted January 27, 2014 thx Aaron. I haven't used hotwire much lately, but used to be able to narrow down to the exact hotel. Is the tripadvisor rating worth anything in helping identifying?I don't want to stay at the Venetian, so if that's identical to the Palazzo amenities then I don't want to risk it.Much more prefer the Wynn or Encore, both equal to me. It looks like Palazzo/Venetian has 'Accesible to the blind' in their list, which the Wynn/Encore doesn't; you guys agree?Hotwire now shows:5* North20-25 March$1874.5/5 tripadvisor, with 5/5 on conditionFree ParkingCasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterInternet accessGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in showerOn Priceline Express:5* North20-25 March$194So on Priceline you have no idea if it's Palazzo/Venetian/Wynn/Encore? then I won't consider bidding or book through Express, but stick to hotwire.thx guys

thereuare Posted January 29, 2014 Report Posted January 29, 2014 Not in your most recent post above... until now. ;) Please use the requested links for all your bidding, searches, and purchases.I'm not currently seeing the HOTWIRE offer above when searching for dates, this is the current offer i'm seeing at the 5* hotel in the Strip North zone (priced a few dollars more at $192/nite):Free Parking Suite Casino Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Spa Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower If this is what you're currently seeing my best guess for this one would be the Encore Las Vegas. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. shizniltee Posted January 29, 2014 Author Report Posted January 29, 2014 thanks. It's still too pricey for my liking, I'm looking to pay max in the $150 area for wynn/encore.Will keep checking it out every now and then - plenty of time.Am I correct that on PRICELINE you can't narrow it down, so 5* North Strip will be palazzo/venetian/wynn/encore?
AaronJB Posted January 29, 2014 Report Posted January 29, 2014 If you bid on PRICELINE in general, there is no way to narrow down to a particular property or properties. You have to be willing to accept any hotel at the star rating chosen in the zone/s chosen.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
shizniltee Posted March 9, 2014 Author Report Posted March 9, 2014 just to update i'm still looking at this stay, but looks like rates aren't coming off. prob due to March Madness.will decide in the next wk.
