tiajn Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 Hello, i need some advice to book an hotel 3* around Union Square around 95$ a night. Do you think it is possible ?
yellowdog Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 You might be lucky with US West. But I think your budget is to low for US East.Would you like help with US West? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches.Yellowdog.
tiajn Posted January 20, 2014 Author Report Posted January 20, 2014 Yes any help would be great, i don't mind being in union square east or west. as long as it's safe enough for 2 guys ;)Thank you !I tried this already today : 3* USE USW and Japan Town, my highest bid was 92* all rejected :(
yellowdog Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 I can see that you have been bidding for Japan Town also. Please confirm the zone(s) that you're willing to stay in and your max budget/night before tax/fee's and well suggest a stragey to you. tiajn Posted January 20, 2014 Author Report Posted January 20, 2014 I don't mind : Japan TownUnion Square EastUnion Square West FishermanMy maximum budget would be 90$ for a 3*i guess that if there is no offer for that price i would go for an 2*1/2 in USE or USW thanx in advance
AaronJB Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 I do think $90 may fall a little short at the 3* level in USE/USW, but there is one room left for $106 for a 3* in USE on HOTWIRE for these date/s and that property does have a free breakfast amenity. You may want go a little higher for that if free breakfast is of any interest. There is also a 3* in Japantown for $102.I'd start bidding at $75 and work higher by $5's. These do appear to be rather busy date/s so I'd try to lock in something now rather than waiting to see if prices go down (and then potentially wind up with less and/or higher priced options.)Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
tiajn Posted January 22, 2014 Author Report Posted January 22, 2014 No luck either at 100$, i even add the Marina in my search :(On Hotwire i did see the offer at 102$ but how come the taxes and fee are so high compare to Priceline ?
thereuare Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 Every company independently determines how their booking fees are calculated, some can charge a constant rate per nite throughout a stay while others can discount the per nite fee for longer lengths of stay. Use the all-in rate, and not only the room rate, to determine your 'true' best deal. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. tiajn Posted January 22, 2014 Author Report Posted January 22, 2014 Ok thank you ! And what is it better? Union Square West aera, Lombard Street Marina Distric aera or Nob Hill Chinatown ?
thereuare Posted January 22, 2014 Report Posted January 22, 2014 Hopefully somebody who knows the area better will be able to comment as I'm not local to this area and are more accustomed to the previous zones that HOTWIRE used (only USE and USW). These two zones have been sub-divided and are now divided into four zones... i will have to take a closer look at these zones to determine which hotels reside in which zones, and this is on my 'to do' list over the next few days. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
