Hotwire Hotel: please help identify 3* laguna beach

Near Beach

Pool(s)

Self service laundry

I thought it would be the Best Western Laguna, but they don't have laundry. Then I thought it would be Best Western Dana Point, but they don't have free parking. What do you guys think?

For this Laguna Beach hotel, I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links.

If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above?

If you follow the above steps, do you see:

Free Parking,Free Breakfast,Free Internet,Near Beach,Smoke Free Rooms,Pool(s),Self service laundry,Internet access,Accessible for the blind,Accessible path of travel,In-room accessibility,Accessible bathroom,Handicapped parking,Roll-in shower

If so, this listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but a guess would be Best Western Plus Laguna Brisas.

If you're referring to the Best Western Dana Point Inn by the Sea (34744 Pacific Coast Highway), that property is currently 4.5/5.0 rated by TA, whereas this current HOTWIRE offer is 3.5/5.0 rated by TA, so i don't believe this would be the Best Western Dana Point Inn by the Sea.

In your opinion, what's more likely to be accurate....the tripadvisor 3.5 rating, or the amenities listed on Hotwire? I've looked at pretty every hotel in the area on tripadvisor with a 3.5 rating, and none of them match up exactly. Some have pay parking, but not free parking like what listed on Hotwire. Some have the free parking, but not the self laundry like what's listed on Hotwire.

I even called the Best Western Las Brisas to see if they'd recently added self laundry, but they hadn't. they send it out.

Have you ever seen the amenities be wrong on Hotwire? If so, is there any recourse?

I think the laundry amenity on HOTWIRE says "self-service laundry" but appears to cover laundry service in general, given how many properties have laundry as an amenity that offer "laundry service" but not coin-op/self-service laundry.

The tripadvisor rating is not "live/to-the-minute" (if it has updated in the very recent period, it may be slightly off), but it should be accurate to the current rating or at least very close to it.

The HOTWIRE LAUNDRY amenity is supposed to designate self-service machines and not 'dry cleaning/laundry' services where a user can send their laundry out and have it cleaned and returned at the end of the day (or 24 hours later), but it's not always correctly classified by the hotel.

If the hotel does not have the amenities specified, HOTWIRE has been 'pretty good' about offering the choice of a refund or a discount to use on a future purchase if you are willing to keep the reservation.

I can't say for certain how they would handle a situation where the hotel has a higher TA rating than is currently indicated (where i have good sense of how they would handle it is the hotel has a lower TA rating than was indicated by the offer), but i think an argument could be made for a refund that you chose hotel a hotel 'knowing' that it couldn't be the one you were trying to avoid given the TA ratings were so far apart (since it provides the actual TA rating, and not verbiage of '... minimum TA rating...')
