didaz Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 I am looking for a Hotel in Vegas. As there is a bit of time, I am just checking Priceline & Hotwire from time to time (without any good strategy).Today I made a bit on priceline and was suprised that it was accepted:5 Star Luxury Hotel, Las Vegas Strip North Area 5-StarCheck-In Date: Tuesday, May 27, 2014Check-Out Date: Tuesday, June 3, 2014City Area: Las Vegas Strip NorthOffer Price Per Room, Per Night: $50.00 Subtotal: $350.00Taxes and Service Fees: $56.14Total Charges*: $406.14 I checked our hotellist: Pallazo, Venitian and Wynn are the only 5* at the North Stript Area. Is it possible to get it for 50$? Am I righ that the Resort Fees are added at check in?Thank you for your held and the great Website!!!!
yellowdog Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding :) Today I made a bit on priceline and was suprised that it was accepted:No, the information you have posted tells us that you only have submited a bid for $50. But you have not "gone trough" and made the actual bid. You need to click on the "continue" button at the bottom of the review page and place the bid.I checked our hotellist: Pallazo, Venitian and Wynn are the only 5* at the North Stript Area. Is it possible to get it for 50$?No, $50 isn't realistic for your dates. I don't think you'll get a 4* in the North zone if bidding $50.Am I righ that the Resort Fees are added at check in?Yes, resort fee's aren't included in the PRICELINE or HOTWIRE charges. My guess is that you're looking at $100-$110 for a 5* in the North zone.Let us know how we can help you further with your upcoming stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchases and searches.Yellowdog.
didaz Posted January 19, 2014 Author Report Posted January 19, 2014 Thank you yellowdog, understood! But, if I place a bet for north Vegas/5*, are there any other options than Palazzo, Venetian or Wynn? Thank you for the fantastic board!
AaronJB Posted January 19, 2014 Report Posted January 19, 2014 You can see the list of hotels reported to the board here: Priceline Hotel List Nevada. That list provides the hotels *reported to the board*. Changes can happen at any time. What would be your desired budget per night for this stay. Is having a casino in the hotel necessary?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

didaz Posted January 19, 2014 Author Report Posted January 19, 2014 No, Casion not necessary. But Hotel should be in north or south strip area (somewhere around casino royal, Bellagio, Mirage....).Budget should be approx $ 90/day (incl. all tax and fees). Thank you!
yellowdog Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 4* Strip - North $71 pl. $28 Resort FeeThis is a match for both TI and Mirage. didaz Posted January 20, 2014 Author Report Posted January 20, 2014 We are still looking for a hotel :) Is it worth checking HOTWIRE on a regular basis? How often do they change the hotels offered? Should I check every day or is once a week enough to not miss a good deal (...mirage would be great...)
AaronJB Posted January 20, 2014 Report Posted January 20, 2014 There is no "set" time when a listing may change. It is all based on inventory. You may see the same listing for now until your stay or it may change tomorrow. It all depends on how much inventory there is of a particular listing for these date/s. If they run out of inventory, there is no guarantee that you will see the same listing appear again later. If you wait, it really becomes a bet that prices will go lower and/or different listings will appear. This can go the other way: rates can absolutely go higher suddenly and you may suddenly see a listing you were interested in be replaced with one you are not.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
