thereuare Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding!I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Also, are you familiar with Las Vegas, as it's not too often we see users who are looking for both on-strip and off-strip hotels for the same stay? What are your needs for this trip and what is your maximum budget per nite? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too! zsunn Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 Thanks for the reply! This will only be the second time I am going to Vegas and first time planning. I am mainly going for EDC that weekend, but I also plan to check out the strip and gamble at some of the casinos. I don't have a big budget and ideally I would stay at a decent hotel less than $100 a night. I figured I could probably take the monorail from the East side or taxi for cheap so it's not too bad, unless those hotels are super far from the Strip?3*s: 65/night: 55% recommendedFree ParkingFree InternetResortCasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterInternet accessGolf NearbyTennis NearbySpa ServicesAccessible for the blindAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityWheelchair accessibleAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in showernow 85/night: 45% recommendCasinoPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterInternet accessGolf Nearby87/night: 90% recommendFree ParkingFree InternetSuiteFitness CenterPool(s)Self service laundryInternet accessGolf NearbyKitchenetteAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityWheelchair accessibleAccessible bathroomHandicapped parking4*:now 91/night: 75% recommendFree ParkingFree InternetResortCasinoFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterGolf NearbySpa ServicesAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityWheelchair accessibleAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in shower

thereuare Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Let's start with the most realistic options... as for the first two hotels, do you really want to stay at properties that are ~50% recommended by previous guests, and which are off-strip, when there are other viable options within your budget? (and at least one that is located on the strip)3* East of Strip for $87/nite--> best guess would be the Desert Rose Resort 4* Strip South for $89/nite--> Tropicana would be my best guess hereA note regarding the monorail... i'm not sure where the main celebrations of EDC take place, but the monorail is not really that convenient (nor is it that inexpensive). If you're heading anywhere on the east side of the strip, even if you're let out at the hotel of your destination, it is usually a fairly long walk to the strip side of the hotel. The monorail runs along the back side of the hotels, and the hotels on the strip are all built fairly 'deep', so it can be a bit of a hike thru the hotel to the front entrance of the property. If you're actually heading to a hotel on the west side of the strip even even longer of a walk. Also, current rates are one ride for $5, unlimited day pass for $12, and 3 day unlimited for $28, which given its marginal (imo) convenience, can be argued either way just how much of a value it is. The monorail DOES seem like a viable option if you're heading to the Las Vegas Convention Center, but to 'hotel hop' on the strip, it's of marginal benefit.Do either of the two hotels guessed above work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. zsunn Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 Yes! If your guesses are correct then both of them are very viable. However, I would probably choose Tropicana(The New Tropicana Las Vegas?) since it is right on the strip and closer to Earls.... My question is that if your guess is wrong, what other hotel are possible considering the $89/night deal with those amenities? Thank you you are very helpful! PS. if it's $89 a night then shouldn't I just give priceline bidding a go? however, the stars for Tropicana is 3 on priceline and not 4 compared to hotwire.
thereuare Posted January 15, 2014 Report Posted January 15, 2014 Theoretically it could be any other 4* hotel in the zone that HOTWIRE deems to be 4* rated... there are never any guarantees, but with HOTWIRE also showing a 4.0/5.0 TA rating for this property, even if it's something else it should still be quite decent (but i still think the Tropicana is the most likely outcome for this one)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. zsunn Posted January 15, 2014 Author Report Posted January 15, 2014 Hello again! Thanks for the help, I truly appreciate it. I pulled the trigger and got the deal. Turns out it is Tropicana! I got it for $400 for 4 nights. I was wondering which rooms I will get... king deluxe or what? The receipt doesn't give any details.
