I tried bidding 65, 70 and 75 in NW loop and downtown areas, no luck

I am not so great with Priceline but will try to help. I checked the Chicago convention calendar and there are no big conventions in town, just a few very small ones, nothing to jack the prices up. I saw several properties on Hotwire for your date, including what I'm pretty sure was the Swissotel for $125. Very nice hotel and not a bad price.

For now, please let us know if both downtown zones are acceptable, and what your max bid is, and then I can look up one of therueare's previously recommended strategies and modify the amounts to work with your max.

how can you tell it's the swissotel? it only showed retail price of $169. I am not sure what it is.

No guarantee it's the Swissotel, but it's very likely.

sound more to me like hotel 71, but that is based on the fact that they are normally $169
