pack88 Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 I am new to this type of hotel booking and have been very happy to find this site. Excellent information. I was wondering if anyone could help id these hotels for Sep. 27.4.5 *, $190 Times Square/Theater District, Boutique, Fitness Center, Restaurant. 4.5*, $235 Midtown East, Restaurant, Fitness Center, Business Center.(The only guess I have is Waldorf Astoria although it does not say customer favorite.)I also had declined bids up to $200 for the 5* and up to $145 for CPS 4* on priceline (before finding this website.) The prices seem high to me based on other content here. Hotwire is within a few dollars of Expedia etc., is there something big going on that weekend or do I just need to be patient?
thereuare Posted August 28, 2003 Report Posted August 28, 2003 Welcome to BetterBidding! The MTE hotel could also be the Omni Berkshire hotel, as the amenities, star rating, and location match. HOWEVER, in an area in NYC where many hotels have the same (and limited) amenities, it's hard to be certain of the hotel unless their is an uncommon amenity in the list (like a pool or a kitchenette, which both are uncommon in NYC).I've got to go do a few things, but will try to look at the Boutique hotel later in the day (i at least wanted to give you the above info re: Omni since i knew it and won't have a chance to follow up on the other until later). merryecho Posted September 8, 2003 Report Posted September 8, 2003 This one is still popping up as the 4.5 star for the theater district. Any ideas? Could it be the Muse? I am looking for a 4-5 star for October 8-12, and I don't see any hotwire 4.5's in that area other than the westin and W, both hardly boutiques. I wouldn't mind central park south, but there is a big difference between the Intercontinental and the essex house!
thereuare Posted September 9, 2003 Report Posted September 9, 2003 This boutique hotel is going to be difficult to figure out until somebody buys it....The Muse is a possibility, although rooms they have hi-speed internet access (which isn't indicated in the Hotwire search). Ian Schrager's Paramount is also a possibility, but they have a business center, which is not indicated in this Hotwire search. The Time is another possibility, and there are probably others. The problem is that 'boutique' is so arbitrary, so we can basically go on a hotel with a Fitness Center and a Restaurant... doesn't allow for a high degree of certainty.
