musicbox_85 Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Hi,Looking to stay 2 nights in New York Zone 16 - Theatre - Times Square.Looking at 4*, 4.5*, 5*.Would appreciate any advice on bidding strategy. And if I am not wrong, is the 4.5* Intercon?Cheers!
thereuare Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! You can see all hotels reported to the board, and their star ratings, in the Priceline Hotel List, but be sure to read the comments at the top of the hotel lists to know their limitations, as the hotel lists only contain hotels reported to the board so even if only one hotel is reported at a given star rating, there could still be others not yet reported and/or a hotel previously reported that has changed star ratings since last reported. Also, when you bid on PRICELINE the star rating you select is the minimum you are willing to accept, and your bid could always be upgraded to a higher rated property. Are you willing to pay more for a 5* vs. a 4.5* vs. a 4* OR is the goal the least expensive 4* or better for this trip? So we don't suggest a strategy that goes higher than you're willing to pay, what is your maximum bid this stay? Is the Times Square zone the only one that you're willing to stay in?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the information above and we will take it from there. musicbox_85 Posted January 8, 2014 Author Report Posted January 8, 2014 Hi,sorry i was reading a few other threads and it seems like if i have 3 persons, i should not go for PRICELINE but HOTWIRE instead. Will post there. Thanks!

musicbox_85 Posted January 8, 2014 Author Report Posted January 8, 2014 I was thinking of bidding 4.5 star hotel at time square with intention of staying at the intercon. Given that I have 3 persons, the last person can sleep on the couch should I not be alloted a 2 double bed room. What do you think?
AaronJB Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 I was thinking of bidding 4.5 star hotel at time square with intention of staying at the intercon. Given that I have 3 persons, the last person can sleep on the couch should I not be alloted a 2 double bed room. There are other 4.5*'s in the TS aside from the Intercontinental and hotel ratings can change at any time. If you need bedding (may be two beds, may be one plus sofa or rollaway), in NYC especially, I'd really suggest going with HOTWIRE instead.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
AaronJB Posted January 8, 2014 Report Posted January 8, 2014 Please keep all posts within this thread, then we will move to the appropriate forum when a purchase is made. Additional facilities include a roll-in bath which seems like something unique to intercon times square. What do you think.
