Hello, I am from Germany and fly with my daughter of 05.10.2014-09.10.2014 for 4 Nights to New York, when is the best time is for a hotel reservation, would want with pleasure in the Staybridge suite or element, you mean it is worthwhile to wait? Are these hotels bookable on occasion with Hotwire??

Sorry for my Englisch

Greetings

Welcome to BetterBidding!

With HOTWIRE you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered based upon the amenities associated with the property, but it's still a 'best guess' and no guarantees you will receive the hotel you're hoping for. As well, HOTWIRE only shows one hotel at each star level per zone, so there is a chance the hotel you're hoping for isn't the one which is offered for your particular dates.

What is your expected budget per nite (in US Dollars) for this trip?

Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move higher, between now and your stay. Your budget is reasonable for these dates, but depending upon star rating and/or zones you bid, may also fall a little short at the moment.

Unfortunately neither what i believe to be the Element or Staybridge are offered on HOTWIRE for your dates, are you flexible and willing to stay at some other property or are these the only two that you're wiling to accept? Which zone(s) are you willing to accept?

Given you have a bit of time before your trip, you may want to 'test the waters' by using a maximum bid of ~$175 or so, bidding once every week or two, for the next few months... if you continue to be rejected then you can consider increasing your bid amount up to $200 for a few weeks, then finally up to $220. While you may ultimately need to go higher, personally i wouldn't bid that high this far in advance of your stay.

Let us know your thoughts/questions and we'll take it from there.

I would remain already with pleasure in the area Times of Square/Madison Square Garden. Concerning the hotels I am adaptable of course, however, would have already with pleasure at least 3 stars, breakfast would be also great. I was already 02/2012 in the Staybridge, also about Hotwire booked and now hope also again for a similar hotel.

If you search HOTWIRE for your dates do you see anything in either of these two zones, with breakfast, and within your budget?

On the top right of HOTWIRE's home page please change the drop down menu to United States and the currency dropdown to US Dollars. Then continue to search HOTWIRE and post to the board in US Dollars so that rates are consistent and not subject to interpretation due to future currency fluctuation. Once you're ready to purchase stay on the US version of their site and simply change the drop down menu to whatever currency you'd like to use and complete your purchase.

Thanks, I show just there no suitable hotels in the zones, however, there is still some time is till October. I have only seen booking many here always rather at short notice and I only wanted to know whether is it to be booked better now or whether is it better to be waited in hope which the hotels offer then her remaining rooms about Hotwire?

There are plenty of posts on the board from those who have booked well in advance, sometimes the deals they receive can get a little better, sometimes the deals they receive are no longer available and rates are much higher as their travel dates draw near. For more on this subject see the related 'Bid Earl or Late' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.

However, if you're looking for the best deal possible, i would try to expand your acceptable zones to include other midtown locations as NYC is so compact that most locations in midtown are convenient and near mass transit that they work for most users (some caveats apply depending upon star level you're booking, but MTE, MTW, TS, CPS, MSG, and ESB all generally work well for the average user)

Let us know if/when you're ready to move forward and we'll advise further.
