kontiki25 Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Can anyone advise as to what types of rooms are typically awarded when you win a Priceline bid? I assume it's the least expensive room in the hotel, but would love some feedback from actual bid winners. Big difference from winning a bid on a $300 room vs. a $150 room. Lastly, assuming you are assigned the least expensive room, will hotels generally allow upgrades or no? Thanks in advance for help.
AaronJB Posted January 6, 2014 Report Posted January 6, 2014 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)PRICELINE and HOTWIRE reservations are for regular/non-upgraded rooms. People have sometimes gotten upgrages, but I would recommend not going in with high hopes. You can ask at check-in or before the stay (writing/calling.) The hotel could say no, yes or possibly charge you an upgrade fee (which is generally around the difference between a regular and upgraded room.) What they say may depend on the hotel, day or even who you talk to. Some cities are also unlikely - NYC, for example. If you need assistance with your stay, please provide city, date/s, desired zone/star rating and budget.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
