gluck75 Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 My fiance and I are going to be in Vegas from 11-3 thru 11-6. We are seeing U2 at MGM on 11-4.A couple of months back I booked a room at the Venetian for $299 per night directly through the Venetian. Those rooms are now going for $429. Here is the thing, I love the Venetian, but would rather stay at the Bellagio(we really want the Bellagio!!!) or the Hotel at Mandalay Bay.I have never used Priceline. Here is my thought, tell me if you think I am correct...I thought I'd bid for 5 star hotels on the strip with the worst case scenario being I wind up at the Venetian anyway for the price of my bid. Best case is I that I get into either the Bellagio or Mandalay. Is this accurate? Would I be wise to do this?
bbbb Posted October 25, 2005 Report Posted October 25, 2005 We have only seen the Bellagio reported as a win once and it was a long time a go. We have never seen the Mandalay Bay reported as a win. I think you have a good rate booked right now as the rates for your dates are very high. I would keep trying to beat $300 for 5* and see if you can save yourself some $$ but I don't think its going to happen.
gluck75 Posted October 26, 2005 Author Report Posted October 26, 2005 As it does not appear that either P-Line or Hotwire make either of the 2 hotels a possibility, does anybody know where else it might be possible to obtain a discounted rate?
