fobe46 Posted December 6, 2013 Report Posted December 6, 2013 Hey guys trying to book a hotel for my stay in San Francisco near the Union Square. I noticed that in the hotel list there aren't any hotels listed as 4*s in the Union Square West - Nob Hill locations. I was wondering what possibility there could be as the average price for the 4.5* is at $199 and average price for 4* is at $215. Debating strongly between bidding and priceline and using Hotwire. Hotwire has a 4.5* at Union Square East that I believe is Intercontinental for $193. Any help is appreciated.Thank you!

thereuare Posted December 7, 2013 Report Posted December 7, 2013 The Fairmont San Francisco would be at least one possibility of a 4.5* property in the USW zone.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. fobe46 Posted December 9, 2013 Author Report Posted December 9, 2013 Thanks for the info! I will be trying for the USW zone at 4.5* since we do not want to stay at the Fairmont. The USW 4.5* zone is most probably Taj Campton @ $384. Do you know how much I should start bidding? Thanks!
thereuare Posted December 9, 2013 Report Posted December 9, 2013 Do you mean that you will be bidding the USE zone at the 4.5* level? So we don't suggest a strategy that goes higher than you're willing to pay, what is your maximum bid per nite for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and please click each of these previous links before replying.Thanks. fobe46 Posted December 9, 2013 Author Report Posted December 9, 2013 Yes I meant Union Square East, sorry. Hoping for max $200, but was wondering where you would suggest as my starting point.Thank you!
thereuare Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 I think it will likely take more than $200... and perhaps substantially so. Most hotels can sell most of their rooms on their own on New Year's Eve so there is little reason to offer a very deep discount for this nite. In fact, some hotels may not offer any inventory to the opaque suppliers for this nite, and if that is the case with this property, then it won't even be eligible to accept any bid for your nite since they don't have any inventory offered for this nite.I'll suggest a strategy that goes up to $225 and if that is rejected you can let us know your revised maximum bid, or if you want to lower your star rating, and we can update the strategy accordingly. When bidding 4.5* in San Francisco you have NINE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4.5* USE...Bid $175, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $185, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $190, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $195, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $200, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $205, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $210, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $215, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $220, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $225Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. thereuare Posted December 10, 2013 Report Posted December 10, 2013 For the HOTWIRE property I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool, and then click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? This is what i'm seeing when searching for your dates:Pet Friendly Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower My best guess for this one would be the Parc 55 Wyndham San Francisco Union Square. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help.
