sgs60 Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 Please help identify this hotel$290 a night (marked out $559)Midtown Central12/10-12/13Free InternetPet FriendlyBusiness CenterBoutique Hotel4/5 on TA and 70% recommend on Hotwire. Looking on TA there are about 8 hotels that could match.I've been playing with the $250-280 range on Priceline for 4* in Midtown East and Central Park South with no luck. My trip is a month out - is that too far out to get a great deal, or is it just because the time of year? Also, any rhyme or reason as to when hotels become available? Thanks in advance for the help.
thereuare Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!Excluding special events, this is one of the most expensive weeks of the year to be traveling to NYC due to the last minute holiday crowd. For this property, I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool, and then click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? I'm also seeing a Hi-Speed Internet amenity associated with this property:Free Internet Pet Friendly Boutique Business Hi-Speed Internet If this is what you're currently seeing, my best guess for this property would be the Mansfield Hotel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. sgs60 Posted November 25, 2013 Author Report Posted November 25, 2013 Any thoughts on which property this is? The price looks to be very good as I know this is a busy week in NYC and I have not been having luck on PRICELINE. I used BiddingHelper.com.com to find it: Midtown Central Free Internet Pet friendly Restaurant(s) Business Center Internet access Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel Roll-in shower4 out of 5 on TA and 85% recommendation on HOTWIRE.The price is $314 through BiddingHelper.com. Going straight through HW it gave me a property with the exact same amenities for $329, down from $567 Any chance this is the Intercontinental BarclayThanks in advance

sgs60 Posted November 30, 2013 Author Report Posted November 30, 2013 The star rating has changed on this hotel. I am not happy that we got this, as I had the Moderne for the same price, and it is much higher rated on TA.Is there a way to know when it updated its star rating, or can you tell me when the 3.5 on the hotel list was added. I would like to discuss with Priceline that this is not a 4 star hotel. Thanks for the board.
