domodomo Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 Rejected: 4 Star Rating, Dallas Market Center, Love FieldTopic Description: January 12 - January 17, bid 55, 62, 75, and 80 per night. Maybe I am bidding too far in advance, would like to expand bidding area to hotel that has restaurants and shops nearby....any suggestions? Thanks!
thereuare Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 How about the Westin Park Central for $67/nite... would this work for your needs? You can also use our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com to see restaurants, bars, and other things to do near any hotel/address. For example, the address of the Westin above is: 12720 Merit Dr, Dallas, TX 75251. Enter this into the search box at MAPS and HOTELS.com and then click this hotel name from the last on the left. At the bottom of the the info bubble that opens is a link 'SEE NEARBY Restaurants, Coffee, Bars, etc.' which then opens a new map that shows you various restaurants and points of interest that are nearby and how far they are from the hotel location. This can help you pinpoint on ther zones that may be acceptable, but one issue you will always face is that with PRICELINE you can end up anywhere within the zone, so while you may find a hotel with a location that you like you could win a different hotel that is located elsewhere within the zone (more of an issue with zones that are geographically large... less of an issue with zones that are geographically smaller)Find anything of interest there? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. domodomo Posted December 5, 2013 Author Report Posted December 5, 2013 Thanks for your help. Used the link, and booked the Westin Park Central that you suggested for $67 a night. Used PRICELINE EXPRESS deals but tried bidding on PRICELINE 55 and 60 but was rejected. Sorry I posted this in the wrong forum. The above MAPS and HOTELS website was helpful, but the Corner Bakery which is near the hotel is actually the corporate headquarters and not a place to each. Making the hotel a little less attractive. Thanks again!
thereuare Posted December 5, 2013 Report Posted December 5, 2013 Congratulations on your success and thank you for sharing your win with the board. The Westin i had seen for $67/nite was thru HOTWIRE, did you actually use PRICELINE EXPRESS? Either way, do you recall the amenities that were shown before your purchase? (if HOTWIRE you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link on the top right of their home page and then the MY TRIPS section)Please reply to this thread clarifying which service was used and we'll edit the topic title accordingly (and move the thread if necessary). Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. domodomo Posted December 8, 2013 Author Report Posted December 8, 2013 I don't recall the amenities, I thought it would be the Westin based on your email info (4 star, 67 dollars, park central) I think it was the only 4 star hotel in Park Central for 67 on PRICELINE EXPRESS at the time. Thanks!
