AaronJB Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Please confirm your desired max bid per night for this stay - unfortunately, this period is one of the busiest of the year, in the middle of the core shopping/holiday festivities time. Also, are you only interested in MTW/MTE?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
SROBINSON Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 Hi, I was hoping to stay under $250 but can go as high as $300. Primarily interested in MTW/MTE.Thanks, Steve

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
SROBINSON Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 Ok, I have read my messages and click on the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE links.Steve
thereuare Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 Excluding any special events in the city (ie- the UN being in session) this is one of the most expensive weekends of the year, and at current rates it looks like it will take most, if not all (and then some) of your $250-$300/nite budget to be successful in one of these zones. If you want to give it a try, and are only willing to bid MTE and MTW, you can bid as follows:When bidding 4* in NYC you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTE...Bid $200, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $220, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $225, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* MTW...Bid $200, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $220, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $225, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $230, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $235, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $240Start with above and if rejected we'll revise to try again in 24 hours. Any questions feel free to ask. Also, if you are more flexible in zones you may want to also consider MSG and/or ESB as these may be the least expensive for your dates, but still will likely stretch the boundaries of your budget. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
SROBINSON Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 Ok, got rejected again. Guess I picked an expensive week to go! Let me know what I should try in 24 hours. Thanks, Steve
thereuare Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 To confirm, did you want to stick with only MTE and MTW or do you also want to include MSG and/or ESB? (also, are TS and/or CPS not acceptable either... although i think your chances are very low to win in this area, it will help you get more bidding opportunities, but you should only include these zones if you are willing to stay there as well)Please confirm which zone(s) we should include in the next round of bidding and we'll advise accordingly. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
SROBINSON Posted November 22, 2013 Author Report Posted November 22, 2013 Hi, I would like to stick with MTE/MTW for now. TS and CPS are fine also although I agree the probability is low of being successful. Thanks, Steve
thereuare Posted November 22, 2013 Report Posted November 22, 2013 You can re-try:Select 4* MTE...Bid $245, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $250, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $255, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* MTW...Bid $245, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $250, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $255, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $260, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $265, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $270Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
SROBINSON Posted November 22, 2013 Author Report Posted November 22, 2013 Hi, still rejected--I thought the $270 might work. I'm willing to go up to $300. Btw, I changed my dates from Dec 4-8 to Dec 5-8 which probably doesn't make any difference. Thanks, Steve
thereuare Posted November 22, 2013 Report Posted November 22, 2013 You can revise to reach your $300 limit for your next round of bidding:Select 4* MTE...Bid $275, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $280, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $285, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* MTW...Bid $275, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $280, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $285, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $290, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $295, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $300Your new set of dates actually helps things a bit, but at current pricing you still may need to include ESB and/or MSG to find success at $300 or under for a 4* hotel. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how the next round of bidding goes and we'll weigh your options from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
SROBINSON Posted November 23, 2013 Author Report Posted November 23, 2013 Ok, struck out in the latest round. Still want to stay with MTE/MTW and possibly dropping down to 3.5 star hotels. Should I try the same bidding for 3.5 star that I just tried for 4 star?Steve
thereuare Posted November 23, 2013 Report Posted November 23, 2013 You can't do the same exact bidding since there are currently no re-bid zones available at the 3.5* level in NYC.I would bid as follows:Select 3.5* MTW...Bid $260, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3.5* MTE...Bid $260, if rejected at MTW...Bid $270If rejected wait 24 hours and re-try:Select 3.5* MTW...Bid $280, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3.5* MTE...Bid $280, if rejected at MTW...Bid $290If rejected wait 24 hours and re-try:Select 3.5* MTW...Bid $295, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...Select 3.5* MTE...Bid $295, if rejected at MTW...Bid $300I still believe that ESB and/or MSG offer your best chance at success, both of which are generally considered well located for the typical visitor. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated on your progress and let us know how we can be of further help along the way. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
