Since I use this Website often as a resource whenever I consider hotel arrangements via Hotwire or Priceline, I thought I would return the favor by reporting a recent win.

I was looking for a place for NYE 2014 and wanted to keep costs reasonable (like under $100) since I know what I don't spend on a hotel will be going to something else (bar tab). Instead of staying downtown San Diego, I chose mission valley. I first looked at the Express Deals and saw 3.5 location toady at a rate of $79. So I chose the "Name Your Own Price" option and bid $70 on a property with a retail price of $116. I was expecting to have my bid declined because I got the red warning "Based on recent data, your price has almost no chance of being accepted." Glad I ignored it because on my first try it was accepted!

My only regret is post-bidding remorse, wondering if I had bid lower, like $65, would I have won.
