I am so angry with myself I hesitate to write this. Alas, as a lesson to myself I will.

It's been a very long time since I've used Priceline or read betterbidding. I booked a last minute cruise and needed a hotel in downtown Baltimore. I thought I'd use a few "free bids," get rejected, and come back to try again tomorrow.

I studied and studied and studied. And I still overlooked the fact that Baltimore's BWI (zone 1) has a 4* hotel. And that, of course, is the one I got. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get from the hotel to the ship terminal!

Bid $72 zone 8

Bid $75 added zone 2

Bid $78 added the deadly zone 1

$78 + $19.84 = $97.84

The (pre-paid) rake rate is only $95.

Someday I'll learn.

Sorry to hear you ended up in a zone that you didn't intend, but fortunately it's only for a one nite stay and not a longer term trip.
