Priceline Hotel: 4* Miami (Beach) Quarzo Boutique Hotel Bal Harbour

Trying to get a Miami Beach hotel for 1/22-1/27/14. Hoping for Eden Roc although Grand Beach Hotel would be fine, too. Any recommendations? I went up to $140 and still didn't get anything, is it just too far in advance to get such a good deal? Thanks!

Have you checked retail rates for these dates?

The Grand hotel is currently selling at $325/nite for your dates and the Fountainbleu is nearly $600/nite, making your $140 maximum bid thus far well less than half of prevailing rates, which does not give you a a very high probability of success.

I haven't looked to see if it would help, but is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option? As the Fountainbleu was last reported at the 4.5* level and the Grand Hotel at the 4* level... what star level are you bidding?

I can't switch hotels, traveling with a toddler and it would be too difficult. I went all the way up to $220 and still nothing, might just give up and do a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal.

Bid $230 thinking I would finally get what I wanted and ended up with the Quarzo in Bal Habour. SO disappointed, not within walking distance of where I wanted to be.

Sorry to see you didn't receive one of the hotels that you were hoping for.

When bidding on PRICELINE there is no way to target (or avoid) a specific hotel, nor to only target a specific area within the zone. When you are trying to target a specific hotel or location, HOTWIRE can often be a better (although slightly more expensive option) as you can often take an educated guess as to what is being offered, or at least use the user feedback rating for 'location' to determine if it might be a preferred part of the zone or not.

In the future when you are hoping for a specific location you might want to give our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com a look as it makes it easy to see rates within a given radius of a specific location as well as how much more/less it would cost if you go up/down in star rating or stay closer/further for your ideal location.
