johnlee009 Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 I need help identifying 4 star strip south area hotel.$55 $174It has a resort fee of $19.9912/06 - 12/08Free ParkingResortFitness CenterRestaurantGolf NearbyFree InternetCasinoPoolsBusiness CenterAny help would be appreciated. Thanks
thereuare Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool, and then click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? This is what i see for the 4* hotel in this zone when searching for your dates:Free Parking Free Internet Resort Casino Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Golf Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower If this is what you're seeing, my best guess for this one would be the Tropicana Hotel and Casino. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. johnlee009 Posted November 17, 2013 Author Report Posted November 17, 2013 Thanks. Not the hotel I'm looking for.I'm hoping for under $100 per night MGM, Paris, Treasure Island, Monte Carlo, Planet Hollywood, Aria, Vdara, Palazzo, or Wynn.
johnlee009 Posted November 17, 2013 Author Report Posted November 17, 2013 5 star - Strip Vicinity South12/06 thru 12/08Guaranteed Amenities: Indoor or Outdoor Pool, Fitness Center, Free Parking, Business Center, Guest Score 8/10 or Higher.Since it doesn't list Casino, does this mean it will be Vdara? This is the hotel I want. But the other two options I can think of are Cosmopolitan and Aria, but they both have a casino inside. Thanks any help would be appreciated.
thereuare Posted November 17, 2013 Report Posted November 17, 2013 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread.I'm hoping for under $100 per night...The PRICELINE EXPRESS deal above is priced at $150/nite... are you will to extend your budget when the hotel below appears to be one of the hotels you're hoping for and within your budget?HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the Strip North zone for $95/nite with:Free Parking Resort Casino Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Tennis Spa Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower Best guess for this property would be The Mirage or Treasure Island... does this one work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. johnlee009 Posted November 17, 2013 Author Report Posted November 17, 2013 Yes that works. Thanks. One more question...for priceline name your own price...5* Vicinity South - in the review screen if the guaranteed amenities doesn't list casino can I assume it's the Vdara?
thereuare Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 ...in the review screen if the guaranteed amenities doesn't list casino can I assume it's the Vdara?No... when using the 'Name Your Own Price' side of their service, the guaranteed amenities shown are amenities that are present at every hotel of that star rating in the zone, not for a specific hotel that you are bidding on. As the Vdara is an option at the 5* level in this zone, the 'guaranteed amenities' can't show the Casino amenity since that is not offered at every hotel in the zone. At this point in the bidding process, PRICELINE hasn't even checked inventory for your dates yet. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. johnlee009 Posted November 18, 2013 Author Report Posted November 18, 2013 Okay thanks for the clarification and all your help.I'm going to wait a few days and hope the price will drop a bit more.
thereuare Posted November 18, 2013 Report Posted November 18, 2013 Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move higher, between now and your stay, but keep in mind that the rodeo finals take place during your trip, which is the one big event in Vegas that effects hotel pricing each year.Keep us updated on your progress and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. johnlee009 Posted November 19, 2013 Author Report Posted November 19, 2013 For 12/06 thru 12/08 in Priceline express deals i see...$99 is most likely Treasure Island - LV North 4*$130 most likely Venetian - LV North 5*$131 - LV 4* is the one that stumps me,,,,what can it be?And after looking at the Elara I am loving it. I see the lowest rate for Elara is $161. Is there any deals lower? Thanks
AaronJB Posted November 19, 2013 Report Posted November 19, 2013 Please provide the zone and amenities showing with the 4* listing and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
johnlee009 Posted November 19, 2013 Author Report Posted November 19, 2013 $99 is most likely Treasure Island - LV North 4* Wifi, Swimming, Restaurant, Free Parking, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center.$130 most likely Venetian - LV North 5* Pool, Free Parking, Restaurant, Business Center, zcasino, Fitness Center.$131 - LV 4* Wifi, Pool, Free Parking, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center is the one that stumps me,,,,what can it be?
thereuare Posted November 20, 2013 Report Posted November 20, 2013 For the last property we need the zone that this hotel is located in, and for all the properties, there may be more amenities than you have posted. To see the complete amenities associated with each you will need to do the following:1) search HOTWIRE and select the offer from the search results page2) click the BOOK NOW button3) in the TRIP SUMMARY BOX click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenitiesPlease provide the full details of each listing and we will have a look. Are you willing to pay more than $100/nite at this point in time? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. johnlee009 Posted November 20, 2013 Author Report Posted November 20, 2013 LV Strip North.$99 is most likely Treasure Island - LV North 4* Wifi, Swimming, Restaurant, Free Parking, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center.LV Strip North.$130 most likely Venetian - LV North 5* Pool, Free Parking, Restaurant, Business Center, zcasino, Fitness Center.LV Strip Vicinity South.$131 - LV 4* Wifi, Pool, Free Parking, Business Center, Casino, Fitness Center is the one that stumps me,,,,what can it be?And yes willing to go over $100 at this point. At most $140 before tax and fees.I'm getting this from PRICELINE EXPRESS. Does the HOTWIRE link work for the amenities? And how would I compare priceline express amenities since the amenities are most likely the same for most hotels? Thanks
thereuare Posted November 20, 2013 Report Posted November 20, 2013 My best guess for each:4* LV Strip North.Treasure Island5* LV Strip North.Palazzo or Wynn4* LV Strip Vicinity South.my guess would be Tropicana, but other possibilities too (Westin, Planet Hollywood, New York New York, etc)... but with the 5* Strip North above going for the same price, that one would seem like a much better deal than this one regardless of which 4* hotel this one isPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. johnlee009 Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 Okay thanks for all your help. :)
johnlee009 Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 I'm confused about Priceline name your own price. When it states "median retail price", Do people normally pay below or over the median price? And does the number of room effect the bidding? (More rooms less expensive)I've been trying to bid two rooms for dates 12/06 thru 12/08 for 5* Las Vegas North Vicinity. The median retail price is $102. I bid up to $115 and I still get rejected. Thanks
thereuare Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 When it states "median retail price", Do people normally pay below or over the median price? In theory you should be bidding below the 'median retail' price, but this figure has been shown to be shown to be flawed in many situations and it is meaningless in determining a bidding price or strategy. If you want to see 'real' retail rates for a given area you can use our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com, search 3 miles from 'Las Vegas Strip' for your dates, UNcheck all star ratings except for '5 stars', and then you can easily see the hotels that would be included within the Strip North zone and their retail prices. :)And does the number of room effect the bidding? (More rooms less expensive)Usually the number of rooms is a non-factor, but when it is a factor, it is to the downside. For example, the 'best rate' at a given hotel may be $80, but if they only offer one room at this rate and you need multiple rooms, then the next lowest priced hotel that is offering at least the number of rooms that you need will be offered.I've been trying to bid two rooms for dates 12/06 thru 12/08 for 5* Las Vegas North Vicinity. The median retail price is $102. I bid up to $115 and I still get rejected. As noted above the rate is flawed. With this noted, you're not likely too far off, as at current prices i think you're likely looking at $120-$140 to be successful for a 5* hotel within this zone for your dates. If you would like help with a bidding strategy let us know your maximum bid and we will advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Keep us updated on your progress and let us know if/how we can be of further help along the way. johnlee009 Posted November 21, 2013 Author Report Posted November 21, 2013 If that were the case then I should just get the Venetian for $130 from PRICELINE EXPRESS. The bidding isn't any use to me.
thereuare Posted November 21, 2013 Report Posted November 21, 2013 A 5* hotel in the Strip North zone was not offered at $130/nite for your dates when i looked last nite, but i see that one is now available. Given your previous rejection at $115 you're likely looking between $115-$130, which if you win at the lower end of this range, is still less than the PRICELINE EXPRESS rate. Either way, both are a good 30%+ less than retail rates, so i would suggest bidding on PRICELINE up to the PRICELINE EXPRESS rate, and if still rejected, then take the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal. Bidding on PRICELINE is usually, but not always, your least expensive option... you won't know if it is/isn't in this instance until you bid up to that amount on PRICELINE.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
