OdieUK Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 This was rather a messy reservation through hotwire. note that i am very methodical and thorough in advance checking first before i make a reservation. on 13 November Reservation for 3 star hotdeal Brussels grand place area. information stated hotel had pool, wifi etc. $87.00 p.n. (i knew that the only 3star in this area with pool was a Novotel)awarded: George V hotel Brussels. immediately checked tripadvisor etc. hotel was 180/190 - and no pool! immediately fired off an email to hotwire customer support advising of this.Morning of 14 November - email from hotwire customer support acknowledging failure. offered either cancel with no penalty, or keep reservation with 25% hotwire dollars in account. Afternoon of 14 November. contacted Hotwire customer support in London to discuss situation. the member of staff who i spoke to (not sure if im allowed to name staff but name started with L) was amazing, understanding and helpful! As we spoke on phone i received email advising full refund and cancellation of 3star GeorgeV. We agreed to book 5 star deal - for $38 extra (which was taxes etc etc) i was advised i would get a superb hotel. As he had all the details to hand incl credit card etc, i advised to go ahead. immediate confirmation - Le Meridien Brussels! one very happy traveller staying at superb hotel - and i thanked the person prefusely for being a true 10 out of 10 customer support agent !

Glad to see this worked out well for you and you were able to upgrade from a 3* to a 5* for just a few dollars more and that you had a good experience with HOTWIRE customer service.Can you please add a reply to this thread with the amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page.
