yc007 Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 Hi there,I am new to hotwire. I just booked 2 hotels in Orlando and now I need a hotel from 13-19 december. I prefer a hotel in south beach (ocean drive or collins avenue)There are so many hotels, it's difficult for a newbie ;-)I now found this one:South Beach - Ocean Drive area |90% recommendedOur 3.5-star hotels include: Sheraton Hotels & Resorts Embassy Suites Hotels Hyatt Hotels & Resorts Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts Hotel Indigo and other brand-name and independent hotelsTraveller rating on TripAdvisor 3.5 out of 5.0Amenities Free Breakfast Free Internet Boutique Hotel Near Beach Restaurant(s)Do you have any idea???
thereuare Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding!I just booked 2 hotels in Orlando...Were these booked via HOTWIRE? If so, please help others by sharing each of your wins as a NEW TOPIC so that the information can help others. In your post please include the star rating, city, zone, hotel name, room rate per nite (before fees/taxes), dates of your stay, and amenities shown before your purchase... you can still view all of this information by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page.South Beach - Ocean Drive area |90% recommended3.5-star hotelsTraveller rating on TripAdvisor 3.5 out of 5.0Amenities Free Breakfast Free Internet Boutique Hotel Near Beach Restaurant(s)Best guess for this property would be the Avalon Hotel.HOWEVER, this 3.5* property is priced at $141/nite... why not the 4* hotel priced less at $119/nite hotel with not only a higher star rating but also a higher TA rating (of 4.5/5.0 which is excellent)? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. yc007 Posted November 14, 2013 Author Report Posted November 14, 2013 I cannot find a 119 dollar nite hotel during that period in ocean drive or collins avenue? Maybe it's already gone.I will look tomorrow.

thereuare Posted November 14, 2013 Report Posted November 14, 2013 Here is a link to the 4* Ocean Drive property i'm referring to for $119/nite (double check the dates at the landing page of this link):4* Hotwire Ocean Drive(you won't see the full amenities on this page unless you click the BOOK NOW button and then on the next page in the TRIP SUMMARY box click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenities)Free Internet Pet Friendly Boutique Fitness Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ... best guess for this hotel would be the Pelican Hotel. For the Oceanfront Collins property you posted above is this 3* rated? If so, I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool, and then click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? This is what i see for the $100 3 star hotel when searching for your dates (2adults/0children):Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Boutique Near Beach Fitness Restaurant Hi-Speed Internet Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower If this is what you're seeing my best guess here would be the Townhouse Hotel Miami. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. thereuare Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 Please change the drop down menu on the top right of HOTWIRE's page to United States and the currency dropdown to US Dollars. Then continue to search HOTWIRE and post to the board in US Dollars so that rates are consistent and not subject to interpretation due to future currency fluctuation. Once you're ready to purchase stay on the US version of their site and simply change the drop down menu to whatever currency you'd like to use and complete your purchase.Any links we post to direct search results will expire about 30 minutes after posting. I am still seeing the 4* hotel in the Ocean Drive zone with a 4.5/5.0 TA rating for $120/nite... are you interested in this property or do you think a 3* for almost the same price with a lower TA rating and a lower user recommended rating is a better deal? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. thereuare Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 I am travelling with my baby (1 year old)Where can I enter him? I can only enter adults and children from 2-17You can enter 1 child but the offers may change and/or the price may go up. If the price goes up i would simply book at 2adults and then once you receive the hotel call them and let them know you have a one year old with you and what accommodations are available (crib, pak n play, rollaway, etc). If there is a problem with the room size then call HOTWIRE to resolve since you did search as per their parameters (not declaring your child since under 2 years old)... if you can find the same property for 2adults/1child and it's the same price (or within a few dollars), then i would book that way to avoid any complications. What hotel is this 4 star do you think?Free InternetPet friendlyBoutique HotelFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterSelf service laundryInternet accessAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomRoll-in showerWhat is the zone and price in US Dollars? yc007 Posted November 15, 2013 Author Report Posted November 15, 2013 The problem is that I don't see the hotel when I am entering a child (2-17 years). Are you guys in America normally easy with babies/kids? Maybe some hotels in Miami refuse them? The hotel is 119 dollar per night, Free InternetPet friendlyBoutique HotelFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterSelf service laundryInternet accessAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomRoll-in showerSouth Beach - Ocean Drive area Hotel and a 4.5 tripadvisor rating.Pelican hotel do you think??
yc007 Posted November 15, 2013 Author Report Posted November 15, 2013 I couldn't wait :PJust talked with the livechat from hotwire. They say I needed to search for 2 adults. It was no problem, because babies till 2 years are free. Now I have the Pelican Hotel (happy!!), but when I look at the booking.com description, it says at children:Extra beds are not available. There is no capacity for extra beds in the room. What do I need to do now? Hotwire chat can't help me, I need to call them.

thereuare Posted November 15, 2013 Report Posted November 15, 2013 As indicated above in my previous post, you know call the hotel and let them know that you have a one year old with them and you want to see what accommodations are available for a one year old (pak n play, crib, etc) and ensure that the room will accommodate the three of you. If the hotel states that the room can not, then you contact HOTWIRE, let them know that you searched for 2adults/0children because your child is under 2 years old, and that the hotel is saying that the room will not accommodate the three of you. HOTWIRE will then contact the hotel and either 1) work something out with them, 2) cancel the reservation (and likely off you some 'hot dollars' to use on your next purchase... and of course the hotel may be able to accommodate your child and you never need to contact HOTWIRE to help in resolving.I would follow the above, but if you are overseas and no means to contact the hotel (you can try email, skype, etc) you could contact HOTWIRE and ask them to call the hotel to confirm that there will be a way to accommodate your child.Let us know how your contact with the hotel goes (and if necessary your subsequent talk with HOTWIRE)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
