Hello All.

Excuse English not so good sometimes.

On 11/22 I want a Hotel In New York City for 3 people. So 2 beds preferably. Willing to Bid and call them on phone after winning to ask for them to make sure it 2 beds. I want to check out on 11/24. I also will have a car with me I am not sure how much parking is or if hotel grant it if you stay with them?

Anyways The areas do not matter too much within New York City as long as nice and not scummy people, in other words somewhere safe!

Please tell me how and what to do! Thanks!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Please start by reading your messages

I will mention that due to occupancy issues we don't recommend bidding on PRICELINE in NYC when you need triple occupancy as most hotels have a high percentage of rooms with only one bed and rooms with two beds is often considered an upgrade... HOTWIRE is usually a better option in this situation since you can search for up to quad occupancy. HOTWIRE will cost a little more but you are ensured of sleeping accommodations for everyone in your group (although the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc). Ultimately the decision to accept the risk is yours and we will advise on however you want to move forward.

Parking will be extra (and expensive... about $45-$60/nite if you park with the hotel, but you can find cheaper parking at a private garage separate from your hotel for $25-$35/nite).

What star rating are you seeking for this stay? Your options will be mostly determined by your budget, what is your target budget per room per nite for this trip?

Okay great thanks for this. Let's do HOTWIRE then just to be safe. It now appears I will only be needing one night. the 22nd checking out the 23rd. I am seeking for a high star rating and nice experience. I am looking to spend as little as possible but with a very nice hotel. Don't really have a budget just want something nice that will be a fun experience.

HOTWIRE offers a set of listings for each set of date/s instead of bidding. If you search for your date/s, are there any listings of interest within your desired budget? If so, please provide the full details of the listing (date/s, price, full list of amenities, zone and star rating) and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID the listing.)

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

I believe there are more amenities for each of these then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links.

If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool, and then click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab, do you see more amenities for each then what you have listed above?

4.5* MTE = possible match for the Omni Berkshire

4* MTE = possible match for the Roosevelt

3.5* TS = possible match for the Belvedere

4.5* Downtown - not yet ID'd, likely a new amenity set for the W Downtown

4* MSG/HK - possible New Yorker.

4* ESB = possible match for the St Giles the Court

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

I think the 4* ESB property is the Roger Williams Hotel (and not the St Giles the Court)

The best hotel in the group is likely the 4.5* MTE hotel guessed to be the Omni Berkshire... but it's also the most expensive. If budget is a concern and you want something less expensive than i would go with the 3.5* Times Square guessed to be the Belvedere.

I didn't include the Downtown hotels as that is not ideally where you want to stay in NYC unless you have reason to be in that area... midtown is better and more centrally located.

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you're pleased with the outcome and this property will work well for your plans.

You're also near my often recommended Ess-A-Bagel (Third Ave at 51st St) which has one of the best bagels in the city, makes for a nice, and relatively inexpensive, breakfast among local NYers.

Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase.

Enjoy your stay.

Thank you very much. I will keep that in mind. Do you have any suggestions for parking? I know the OMNI offers parking for $45 per 24 hours is this the best way to go or is there better parking in the area?

Posted

If you don't need in/out privileges you can do better than the hotel's parking rate... i don't have a specific garage in mind but the more east and south you head the likely better off you'll be... if you search on First Ave and Second Ave, and below 42nd St, i suspect you can find something closer to the $25-$35 range.
