Jen Urbano Posted November 12, 2013 Report Posted November 12, 2013 We are looking for a 4* (or higher) hotel in the Times Square-Theater District area for March 20-23, 2014 - for 2 adults and 1 child (7 yr old.) We would like to stay under $150 a night. I've seen a couple of posts for February 2014 that got rooms in the $110-115 range. We would be ok with staying in the Central Park South, Midtown East, and Midtown West areas as well, though Times Square/Theater District is our preference.We tried bidding on Priceline this evening as follows, rejected at all turns: - 4*, Times Square/Theater District: $115 - 4*, added Long Island City: $120 - 4*, added Morningside Heights: $125I would be grateful for some assistance in the bidding process. It's been a couple of years since I've gone through this process and I'm feeling a little rusty. :)
thereuare Posted November 12, 2013 Report Posted November 12, 2013 To being, note that PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel, and you could receive a room with only one bed. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. This is especially true in NYC where a high percentage of rooms only have one bed and rooms with two beds is often considered a paid upgrade at many properties. Is this a risk you're willing to accept? If not, HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (although this usually means two beds, the second 'bed' could be a sofabed, rollaway, etc)Please confirm how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
