ayazkermalli Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 We're three students ages 20-25 looking for a 2-3 star hotel during the dates 12/30/2013 - 01/05/14 in Times square, Midtown west, midtown east, Madison Square Garden, Central park, and Empire State Building. I'm thinking our max bid will be around $180/night. What do you think my bidding strategy should be? Thanks in advance!
AaronJB Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)A couple of notes/thoughts:1. The 1/1-1/5 period is significantly cheaper than the period as a whole, given how busy NYE is. Do you have any interest in splitting your stay?2. PRICELINE only guarantees one bed/double occupancy. Do you need two beds? If so, with PRICELINE bidding and NYC, there is a very high risk of one bed. NYC rooms are often small or very small and two beds are often a paid upgrade. I'd suggest HOTWIRE, where you can indicate the amount of people in the party, instead.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

ayazkermalli Posted November 11, 2013 Author Report Posted November 11, 2013 I don't think splitting our stay would be ideal; packing and unpacking and moving to another hotel. Is there any way of splitting our stay but ending up in the same hotel? What does Hotwire have to offer? There's no bidding like there is on Priceline, right?
AaronJB Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Do you have any plans - sights, activities, etc that you would want to be within more reasonable distance to that would make a particular zone or zone/s more appealing? You may be a little bit short at $120 for 4* in USE, USW and Fisherman's Wharf, but it's worth trying lower and working up to your max. A 3.5* would be within your budget - there is a 3.5* USE for $112 on HOTWIRE.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
