My Cat's Name is Bernie Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 I started at $125/night. My most recent bid of $250/night ($315 including taxes and fees) was rejected. It's a shame since I see that Florida Sailor got it for $135 this past summer. When I started the bidding process, many travel sites were offering the Copenhagen Marriott for $545/night including breakfast (Priceline's rate has no breakfast), but now most sites are showing it is sold out for my dates.I have a cancellable reservation at Hotel d'Angleterre (a nicer hotel IMO) for $450/night, so I am unwilling to go much higher for (what is probably) the Marriott.Do you think I might have better luck if I wait until closer to my departure date? Any other bidding advice would be gratefully appreciated.I used the PRICELINE link from this site for all my bids. Thanks for the help!
AaronJB Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 If there is something going on on these date/s in the area it's going to differ, but if otherwise a normal period I'd say you have some time to start lower again and try up to $250 once a week for a couple of months.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 PRICELINE EXPRESS does have a 5* hotel for $397/nite if you want something cheaper than your back-up, but not sure if you want to save $50/nite for an 'opaque' purchase. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Keep us updated on your progress and let us know if we can be of further help along the way. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
