mnpdeals Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 Now that I have got London out of the way (thanks BB), my next stop is Paris Nov 26-29.Still not decided on location, but I want to stay close to the attractions.Priceline Express is giving me a 4 * in Star Hotel in Opera Quarter West - Jardin des Tuileries Area for $190/night.The amenities are: Free Internet, Pets Allowed. It also gives me a bed choice and when I try to choose room, I get an option of 1 or 2 bed and best part is breakfast is included in both. The hotel is rated at 7.0 or higher. Can you help id the hotel? Also, is this a good neighborhood to stay - want to stay close to shopping as well as attractions. The other areas I am looking at is near Effiel Tower & South of Champs Elysees - Arc De Triomphethanks!
thereuare Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 Unfortunately this property has not yet been reported to the board, and with so many 4* hotels in this zone and only these two amenities showing, i don't have any insight into this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide to do for this one or how we can be of further help. mnpdeals Posted November 9, 2013 Author Report Posted November 9, 2013 With Express deal, I am getting a 4* in Latin Quarter for $180 a night with a choice of two beds and breakfast included.Guaranteed Free internet & pets allowed. Hotel will be atleast 8.0+ and is a guest fav.Any thoughts? and is this a good neighborhood for 1st timers with 2 kids?
thereuare Posted November 10, 2013 Report Posted November 10, 2013 This property has not yet been reported to the board, but some guesses would include the Melia Colbert, Villa Pantheon, and the Relais Saint Jacques. Many people do like this area but it really depends upon what you intend to do in the area. A few years ago i stayed in this zone and found it to be 'ok', in the future i would more likely look to stay in the Champs Elysees-Arc De Triomphe, Opera Quarter East, or Opera Quarter West zones. We also like the Eiffel Tower zone and found we wre in this area a lot, but some feel that it is not centrally located enough. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. mnpdeals Posted November 11, 2013 Author Report Posted November 11, 2013 On hotwire, I am getting a 4* in Montparnasse area for 2A2C for $160.Hotel has Internet, pet friendly self service laundry & restaurant.trip advisor is 4 out of 5 and 95% hotwire customers recommend it.
thereuare Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 I'm not seeing this property offered when i search for your dates and 2adults/2children.I do see two 4* hotels offered in this zone, the first priced at $157/nite and has:Restaurant Hi-Speed Internet This property has not yet been reported to the board but with a 65% recommendation from previous HOTWIRE guests i would look elsewhere. The second 4* hotel in this zone is priced at $196/nite and has:Free Internet Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible My best guess for this one would be the Pullman Paris Montparnasse. Are you able to see this second property... would this work for your needs? Are you still seeing the originally property from your first post? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
mnpdeals Posted November 11, 2013 Author Report Posted November 11, 2013 No, I dont see the property anymore.I do see the $157 one you got, but I dont see the 2nd one either.
mnpdeals Posted November 11, 2013 Author Report Posted November 11, 2013 Sorry for the churn here, but one more:On Hotwire, 4* in the Notre Dame, Louvre, Marais area for $221 (2A2C)It has the following amenities:Free InternetPet friendlyAirport ShuttleSmoke Free RoomsRestaurant(s)Business CenterSelf service laundryInternet accessAnd is rated 4.0 by trip advisor and 80% hotwire customers recommend it based on 77 reviews. And reading up on this, the location seems to be right for first time visitors.
mnpdeals Posted November 11, 2013 Author Report Posted November 11, 2013 I apologize if this has been posted before; I did not find it. Also, googling this did not show me any good hits which is extremely surprising since the chances of rebid with Safari increases. On Chrome (on Mac & PC), when I try bidding, the only choices I get are 4,5,3,2,1 star ratings. On Safari (on Mac Mavericks), I get 5, 4.5, 4, 3.5,3,2,1 star ratings for the exact same options (city, zone, dates). Also, on Safari, the website is quite different (for eg, when I was filtering and got no results, Chrome just showed blank panel, whereas Safari said "I have filtered myself into a corner" or something like that.I have never seen websites designed differently for different browsers (and no, I am not running iPad version of Safari on Mac).btw, I also tried IE and it shows exact same interface as Chrome.I am on my Windows machine at work now, but if others are interested, I can post some screen shots when I get home.
thereuare Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 My guess for the Notre Dame - Louvre - Marais property would be the Novotel Paris Les Halles. As far as your PRICELINE interface comments, it sound to me like the javascript may not be working on the Safari version OR you are seeing a new version of the PRICELINE website on that page (a few weeks ago i saw a new version being tested for about 2-3 hours but it has not yet appeared again (for me at least) since that time). We don't allow screenshots posted to the board, but if you send me an email or PM i'll have a look and be able to comment further. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
