Hi,

I am trying to match the hotel that I am getting for the Express Deals.

I am getting $256 per night for a 5* in Westminster and the hotel rating is 9.0.

there seems to be only one with 9.0 if I look at the List View and that is the London Marriott Hotel County Hall.

Can someone confirm?

also, I am getting $143 for a 4* in the same neighborhood and the hotel rating is 8.0 which I think is the Crowne Plaza London.

btw, we will be travelling with 2 boys (6 & 4) and probably are ok with King though we prefer two queens. Would you suggest that I go through Express Deal?

Thanks!

Welcome to Betterbidding.

The issue with PRICELINE bidding is that you are only guaranteed one bed. You can request two beds with the hotel, but they can say no. There are some cities where there is a higher risk of them saying no (London, NYC are examples). You can look for a PRICELINE Express deal where you can select more than one bed OR search for two adults and two children on HOTWIRE (which will not guarantee two beds, but should guarantee some form of bedding for the whole party.)

If you need help with trying to ID a PRICELINE listing, please provide the full set of amenities showing with the listing and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID.

Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

Thanks and I have started using both links for my searches now.

Priceline is giving me a 5* hotel with free internet in room, fitness & biz center, restaurant.

For the 4* hotel, priceline is guaranteeing restaurant and fitness center.

I am looking at hotwire and it is giving me 4* for $194 with internet, fitness, biz, restaurant, pet friendly and smokefree.

I would not bid on PRICELINE or use PRICELINE EXPRESS when needing more than double occupancy and traveling overseas as there is just too much risk in doing so in Europe where rooms are notoriously smaller than their US counterparts, many rooms only have one bed, and rooms with two beds are often considered an upgrade from 'standard'.

For the 4* HOTWIRE property, I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links.

If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool, and then click the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? This is what i see for the 4* hotel in this zone when using this tool and searching for your dates and 2adults/2children:

Free Internet

Pet Friendly

Smoke Free

Fitness

Restaurant

Business

Deaf Accessible

Room Accessible

Bathroom Accessible

Handicapped Parking

If this is what you're currently seeing, my best guess for this property would be the Novotel Waterloo.

Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.

Let us know how it goes or how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise further.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

Thanks for the advice and I used the BiddingHelper.com tool ( which is fantastic!) and will go with HOTWIRE later today and book it. Will update thread after. Hopefully Novotel Waterloo is a good family friendly hotel.

I will open up new threads for the next 2 legs - Paris and Zurich.

(How do I update the title of the thread?)

After multiple back & forth, I decided to go with PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals.

I chose a 5* in Mayfair & Soho which had Free Wifi, Fitness, Biz, Pet Friendly & Restaurant and was showing with a 9.0 or higher rating for $228.

I had guessed it was going to be between Metropolitan by Como or Sofitel - and I did not have too much hope on Sofitel.

I got the Metropolitan by Como for $228+tax and I am happy. Even if we get a King (or even a queen) bed, I am fine since the kids are small enough and all 4 of us can fit in.

I preferred that it is close to almost all the sights that we want to see (first time in Europe), and we can come back and rest for a while.

Thank you BetterBidding for helping me with this (and I used the PRICELINE link to book).
