I was thinking about staying at the sheraton times square which is currently $244 on Expedia

After reading other threads where some people reported they have the sheraton times square for $110 that same week I tried the following:

$110 MIDTOWN WEST 4*

$120 MIDTOWN WEST + TIMES SQUARE

Any ideas of what should I try next? I want to stay in the midtown west area or times square in a 4* hotel. Should I try $130 and add MIDTOWN EAST?

Thanks in advance for the help.

When bidding 4* in NYC you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* MTW and add re-bid zone.

Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $140, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINE...

Select 4* MTW and TS and add re-bid zone.

Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $160.

Any questions feel free to ask.

If you are willing to lower your star rating, there is also a 3.5* property in TS on Hotwire for your dates for $128. It has a 70% recommendation from Hotwire users and 3.5* on Trip Advisor. My best guess is the Hotel Manhattan at Times Square. It has the amenities of:

Pet friendly

Smoke Free Rooms

Fitness Center

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Internet access

Accessible for the blind

In-room accessibility

Wheelchair accessible

Accessible bathroom

Handicapped parking

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

What is your maximum bid for a 4* hotel in either the MTW or TS zones?

For the 3.5* HOTWIRE hotel above, i agree that the Manhattan Hotel at Times Square is one possibility, but i will add that the Paramount Hotel would be another likely candidate for this one.

I am willing to pay $160 + tax

Sadly I got excited when I saw other people getting the sheraton times square for $110 around those days.

Last year with your help I got the Crowne Plaza TS for 40-45% of retail price

Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

I think you may be successful at the prices you have already bid for 11/16-11/19, but would then need to bid separately for the nite of 11/19 (and most likely need to change hotels)

I got the sheraton for $110 for 11/16 to 11/19. Its a 402 saving from the 244/night that I was originally going to pay. I am deciding if I purchase a reg. 244 night in the sheraton or if I try priceline again for the night of 11/20.

Congrats on your success. :)

Very good deal for this property and hope you are looking forward to your stay.

If you try the "Extend Your Stay" feature on PRICELINE, does it give an offer (even if higher?)

Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.

I tried to extend my stay but it says that rooms are not available. I also tried of the sheraton website and it seems they don't have rooms for the 19.

Now I am looking for a 4* in times square for less than 200 or maybe up to 300 for a 4 1/2* or 5 star.

My dad wants to stay in the waldorf astoria or the palace but I don't know what would be a good strategy for those.

On PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals there is a 4.5* in MTW for $248 that is probably the Royalton. On Hotwire there is a 4* in TS for $250 that is probably the Millenium Broadway. On Hotwire there is a 4* in MTE for $168 that is most liekly the Roosevelt.
