platna1
That rate is through EasyClickTravel from your site, is it cancellable? I've never used ECT before. Suppose it's cancellable and I book it, what strategy should I have for Friday so that I am successful? Link to comment
thereuare
EasyClickTravel reservations are cancellable up until 72 hours before your check-in date (excpet Disney properties which are 5 days before check-in... doesn't apply in your situation, but don't want somebody else reading this post to get confused) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
platna1
OK, so then what would be the strategy for me to bid on Friday? Thanks. Link to comment
thereuare
Bump this thread on Friday a few hours before you are able to bid again so that we are using current rates.Have you booked the above EasyClickTravel as a back-up? thereuare
If that is your "best option" at this point i would book it now, as they only have a limited number of rooms at their contracted price (at which point the properties go from "Available" to "On Request")... you can always cancel it if (within the 72 hours prior), but we have seen a few cases of a user's back-up hotel suddenly no longer be available once they needed it. platna1
OK, you were right, I was put on "on request." What are my chances of getting it? I booked the Holiday Inn Select at $117/night, $132 with taxes. Link to comment
thereuare
You'll just have to wait and see if they can accomodate the request... some hotels rarely give them more inventory at their contact rate, others often do, and some base it strictly upon their own occupancy levels for that date. platna1
I couldn't get a cheap deal for Veteran's Day, so I tried for Thanksgiving weekend.I bid for 4* Downtown from 11/25 - 11/27 and got the Hyatt Regency Boston for $50/night!If anyone wanted to know - my ECT Holiday Inn request was denied, and I'm glad because I got a great deal.
