Priceline Hotel: Resort Orlando (WDW) Omni

Hey all, I'm relatively new to bidding for hotels and such so bear with me. I'm going to be at WDW for the new years and would like to stay at a resort if at all possible. For the whole stay, after fees and such, I really don't want to spend more than around $550. That comes out to be around $125 a night or so I think. I really love what I've read about the Gaylord Palms and can get a rate from Hotwire of $108 a night for the later two nights of my stay (01/01-01/03) but the first two nights are exorbitantly more expensive. I don't mind changing hotels necessarily (I'd prefer to stay in one hotel, but I have a budget), but the first hotel has to be both clean, comfortable, relatively close to WDW and within my budget. I bid on a resort at Priceline starting at $80 and got to $125 without an acceptance. Any suggestions? I know this is a tough time of year to get good rates, but I want to make this work.

Edit: also, I have stayed at the Sheraton Safari extensively and this is the ideal type of hotel for the original two nights, if need be. I don't need to have a resort necessarily, but 4*, or high quality 3.5* would be ideal.

I started at $83 for a resort in the WDW through priceline. I was originally willing to go only to $110. Through free re-bids I got up to $110 and nothing was accepted. I went to $120, still nothing. At $123 I was accepted for the entire stay, 12/30-01/03. The total was $567, so just about within my budget.

Full bid history:

$83 - WDW

$90 - added MCO

$95 - added downtown

$100 - added florida mall

$105 - added kissimmee

$110 - added orlando east

$115 - added winter garden

$120 - added winter park

$123 - added maitland, accepted offer for Omni Resort

I've read some good reviews of this hotel, anyone have first-hand experience? How's the shuttle service? Is it comfortable, clean? Do people generally have problems securing a non-smoking room? Will the slip-the-guy-a-$20 work to get a non-smoking room or a king size bed?
