lyriccharm Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 First trip to Chicago and I'm super excited. We will be there earlier in the week staying at another hotel (business function). We are checking out on 12/13 and looking for a new place to call home the remainder of the trip (12/13-12/15).I'm looking at Hotwire and would appreciate helping Id'ing the following hotels:Magnificent Mile North - Water TowerFree InternetSmoke Free RoomsFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterInternet accessAccessible for the blindAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomRoll-in shower$134.ntMagnificent Mile Area - River NorthPet friendlyIndoor pool(s)Smoke Free RoomsFitness CenterPool(s)Restaurant(s)Business CenterInternet accessAccessible for the blindAccessible for the deafAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomHandicapped parkingRoll-in shower$115/ntWe would like to stay somewhere nice but not break the bank. We would like to be close to the Mag mile. The James sounds like a super cool hotel but we are open to suggestions! I would like to stay at $150/nt or less. Also I used the better bidding browser to search Hotwire and priceline
thereuare Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 Welcome to BetterBidding! An exact match for the Water Tower property has not yet been reported to the board... my first guess would be the Sofitel with a second guess of the Omni. Regardless if one of these, or some other property, i don't think you can go too wrong given it has a 4.5/5.0 TA rating. My guess for the River North property would be the InterContinental Chicago. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
lyriccharm Posted October 29, 2013 Author Report Posted October 29, 2013 Thanks for your help! I'm debating if I want to book the HOTWIRE $134/nt hotel or try my luck on the PRICELINE lottery! I will keep you posted and use the links!
AaronJB Posted October 29, 2013 Report Posted October 29, 2013 You can also consider looking at PRICELINE EXPRESS options at the 4.5* level. I believe coupon code FALL5 takes 5% off for another day or two.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
lyriccharm Posted November 26, 2013 Author Report Posted November 26, 2013 I just wanted to follow up and close this thread. We decided to extend our stay at the Rafaello. They graciously offered to extend our rate of $127/nt to the weekend dates. While I know we could do better, I don't think we would save enough to justify packing up and moving for just two nights. Thanks for your help!
