Two charges for no-go bookings?

I've tried to book a hotel on Priceline Express, and it came out with a 'this hotel is not available, your card hasn't been charged' message. Tried again, just making sure my details were correct - same message.

My card has been charged, do Priceline do pre-auth's?

Or should I hold off booking till I hear from them? :unsure:

I would first confirm that this is a 'true' charge and not a per-authorization.

Also, go to the top right corner of PRICELINE's home page and go to MY PROFILE >> MY TRIPS... do you see these 'wins' listed there? (the bid may be listed so you'll need to click it to see if it's a confirmed win with the name of the hotel showing). Also, the bid/reference number will be located there as well which should enable you to call and speak to somebody (the reference number should also be in the bid rejection email).
