Priceline Hotel: 3.5* Orange County (Disneyland - Anaheim Convention Center - Garden Grove) Red Lion Hotel Anaheim

Just got a hotel for a December conference at Red Lion - $67 per night - $469.74 with all taxes and fees for 6 nights...not bad considering a quick online search showed the same hotel for the same nights advertising at about $799 for the same dates.

I stayed at this same hotel 4 years ago through priceline, for the same conference....it's a fairly short walk from the convention center, and the rooms were very quiet and comfortable...parking is extra, but I don't remember it being exorbitant.

I was initially worried about being placed in an outlying hotel, as the list for disneyland/anaheim is very long, so I tried 4 star only at 65, with no luck...probably because the 4 star hotels are near the conference center and readily filling up with direct paying clients. So I then went 3.5 star at 67 and won. Probably should have started lower...was perhaps a bit impulsive...have since located my receipt from 4 years prior...and I paid $56 per night last time...so, factoring inflation, maybe I could have scored at 60-65...maybe someone else can try at this rate.

Red lion "special rate" for conference is 95 a night (plus taxes, I'm sure)...so I still got almost 30% off the special "conference rate".

Probably good to reserve early if you're traveling to the area this week, as this is a very large international conference..
