quackster Posted October 22, 2013 Report Posted October 22, 2013 Looking for NYC, Times Sq. Jan. 8-12, 2014. 4* with "Pet friendly, Rest., Internet, Fitness Center, Business Center, KITCHENETTE, and Roll in shower. Betterbidding lists this as possibly Novotel, however Novotel has no kitchenettes. Any other possibilities?
thereuare Posted October 22, 2013 Report Posted October 22, 2013 See each of these Hotwire NYC Hotel and Hotwire hotel Times Square threads... the Novotel was reported to the board with a Kitchenette amenity in each instance.... but i will add that there are better options than this hotel for these dates, imo. Is there something in particular that you're looking for from this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. quackster Posted October 22, 2013 Author Report Posted October 22, 2013 I was just curious and did some investigating. There is no mention of kitchenette on the Novotel website so I phoned directly and they confirmed that there is a restaurant but no kitchenettes. I see a 4.5* which may be the Westin. Great price but hoping to pay less. I think the Paramount is there but I've experienced their tiny rooms. I would be happy to stay in MTE or MTC but I have to dash to the airport after a Sunday matinee so want to be near theaters. Might wait a bit to see if prices drop or try PRICELINE. Will use the Betterbidding links. BTW I get 5 listings for *3.5 or more, Times Sq. on my home computer and 9 on my phone.

AaronJB Posted October 22, 2013 Report Posted October 22, 2013 I believe the Novotel may have refrigerators/microwaves (which prob qualify as a "kitchenette") in the larger rooms, which may have been given if people searched for more than 2 in the party? Unfortunately, no way to know as those who reported with that amenity set did not provide a follow-up review. The listing may also be something new and not yet reported to the board. Are there any listings of interest on PRICELINE Express?Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
luca1 Posted October 24, 2013 Report Posted October 24, 2013 Just to confirm, those amenities are still the Novotel. I just booked on Hotwire today. :)
quackster Posted October 24, 2013 Author Report Posted October 24, 2013 I noticed that. Congratulations. I'm still confused since I called directly and was told there are no kitchenettes. Aaron mentioned that a refrigerator and microwave may qualify. Enjoy your trip.
quackster Posted October 28, 2013 Author Report Posted October 28, 2013 Intercontinental, Times Square Jan. 8-12, 2014. $156/nightPets, Restaurant, Internet Access, Fitness, Business Center, Accessible to blind, deaf, Accessible path of travel and in-room accessibility.Used the Betterbidding HOTWIRE link to book.Had my eye on this property for a few weeks. Price changed slightly occasionally (up or down a few dollars)What puzzles me is that I usually got different prices on my phone than on my home computer. Finally the price dipped to $156 on my phone. Computer stayed at $166, then went up to $171. Does anyone know why prices vary depending on which device I use?
thereuare Posted October 28, 2013 Report Posted October 28, 2013 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you found something that works for your needs and budget. I think there may have been amenities associated with this property which would not have been seen unless you clicked the 'See all' link during the check-out process. Can you please add a reply to this thread confirming the full list of amenities associated with this property by going to HOTWIRE and clicking the MY ACCOUNT link near the top right of their home page.HOTWIRE uses a variable mark-up in their pricing so it's not unusual to see different rates from one search to the next. If you use our BiddingHelper.com tool, you'll often see different rates in the HOTWIRE tab vs. the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab... just buy whichever is cheaper. ;)Thank you for sharing your results and using the HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your purchase. Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
