jclaxton01 Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 Saw this on hotwire through your search and wondered what you thought it might be:$263/night, 80% recommended 3.5 of 5 Trip Advisor and lists following amenities:AmenitiesPet friendlyFitness CenterRestaurant(s)Business CenterInternet accessAccessibilityAccessible for the blind Accessible for the deaf Accessible path of travel In-room accessibilityI may also be interested in bidding on Priceline so will post on that board as well. Thanks in advance for your help!
jclaxton01 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Report Posted October 16, 2013 I would love your recommendation for bidding strategies for an upcoming SFO trip. First location choice would be SOMA - Moscone center as we will be attending a convention there. Second/third choice would be Union Square East or West. Want a 4* or higher and would love to stay under $250 but willing to go up more for a nicer hotel.Any help is appreciated! Thanks,Jennifer
thereuare Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 First location choice would be SOMA - Moscone center as we will be attending a convention there. Second/third choice would be Union Square East or West.Did you want to first bid up to your limit in only the SOMA-Moscone Center zone, then if rejected also include USE and USW... or is the goal the least expensive 4* or better in any of these three zones? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. jclaxton01 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Report Posted October 16, 2013 I'm thinking the least expensive 4* or greater in either of these areas....thanks!

jclaxton01 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Report Posted October 19, 2013 I've gone all the way up to $275 with no luck. The Hotwire deal is still on but $268/night now. Any guess at what that hotel is? I might just go with that.
jclaxton01 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Report Posted October 19, 2013 My guess is the Westin Market Street or Sir Francis Drake - not interested in Sir Francis so I'm a bit unsure.
jclaxton01 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Report Posted October 19, 2013 Also looking at priceline express deals as I have a 10% coupon from a previous booking:Union Square West - Nob Hill 4*save 15% or more+$338pet friendly, restaurant, business center, fitnessGuest Rating: 8.0 & Guest FavUnion Square West - Nob Hill 3.5*save 20% or more+$268pet friendlyGuest Rating 8.0 & Guest FavUnion Square East 4*$314Guest Rating: 7.0pet friendly, restaurant, business center, bed choice available Union Square East 3.5*save 20% or more+$309restaurantGuest Rating: 8.0 & Guest FavAny guesses?
thereuare Posted October 19, 2013 Report Posted October 19, 2013 Even with 10% off the hotels above would be more than your current maximum bid of $250 (and most are lower rated than you have been bidding as well)... if you're willing to pay more why not first continue bidding higher until you get closer to the same rates as these PRICELINE EXPRESS deals? Also, if you're not willing to accept the Sir Francis Drake, how do you ensure avoiding this with your previous/future PRICELINE bids? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. jclaxton01 Posted October 21, 2013 Author Report Posted October 21, 2013 After bidding up to $315 for 4* w/ no luck, I revisited PRICELINE EXPRESS Deals. We decided we didn't want to pay that much for a 4* and there was a 3* in SOMA (first location preference) for $211 that I guessed was the Pickwick hotel based on your forum information. I used my 10% coupon and got the deal for $189.90/night a $300 total savings over their published rate for the same time period. Thanks for your help!
