anitasc Posted October 15, 2005 Report Posted October 15, 2005 :) I just won this bid for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and am just a little worried about transportation into NYC. I was hoping for the Hyatt NJ but was unable to win until i added Seacaucus. From other posts it seems to be not too bad, just catching the 129 bus (?) Any other tips to know about staying at this hotel and getting into the city? I would hate to be limited to only taking the bus, since the bus' probably dont run after midnight. Thanks!
thereuare Posted October 15, 2005 Report Posted October 15, 2005 Not as convenient as Jersey City, but you won't have any trouble catching a but during "daytime" hours... after midnite it gets considerably trickier. anitasc Posted October 15, 2005 Author Report Posted October 15, 2005 Thanks for the response! What about taking the lightrail to the Seacaucus Transfer Station and taxi to/from the hotel?
thereuare Posted October 16, 2005 Report Posted October 16, 2005 The LightRail doesn't yet run into Secaucus. You can look into NJ Transit train, but there are other bus routes from NYC to Secaucus that can get you "close enough" to get a cab, although you would likely have to call a taxi, there won't be a cab stand with waiting car service. The #190 BUS runs for most of the nite and stops at points in Secaucus that should at least "get you close"... but please be careful as the streets of Secaucus at 3am will not be very populated, so for safety reasons i wouldn't recommend standing on a street corner where the bus drops you off waiting for a taxi to come pick you up.
